Last night against Huddersfield the season ticket ripping the ticket out of book fiasco struck again!

Going into the South Stand a guy and his kid got stopped because they had a ticket but didnt bring their season ticket booklet!

I thought the club had relaxed this rule???

But it seems to have come back! Anyway a near riot erupted after the stewards rushed in and tried to evict the lad and his Dad and a massive queue of people started shouting to get in the ground! But some clam thinking by my mate Army Man clamed the situation down and people without ticket books were allowed in....

Maybe it was because the South Stand was full already and the stewards didnt want extra people coming in (like Game 1 at the HJ!)?

Are the club gonna address this before we cause a proper full out riot?

How dare they disobey the terms and conditions outlined in the season ticket and still expect to get in.

Everyone knows that the book is required to get in, what was the idiot playing at not bringing his book?

I usually go in the south stand throught the turnstiles by dallam lane but last night went in through the winwick rd ones outside the security lad said rip your voucher out to save time I did this and put my book back in my pocket when I went it the turnstile I gave my ticket in and the guy there said wheres your book I got it out and showed it him I then told him what the security guy said outside and he said he should not be saying that and more or less said I was lying I told him to go and have a word with the security guy then he then shut up.

You won't be able to incite a riot, you're hardly 'voice of the people' are you Raymond, all that would happen is you and your clam thinking mate would cause a bit of a scene and be dealt with by the stewards, and everybody else would just walk by pointing and laughing.

Its easy bring your season book with you, rip the correct voucher out of the book in front of the turnstile operator, enter the stadium and enjoy the game.

I dont want to carry my season ticket around with me cos i have 3 pints of bitter in the Railway club and dont know my ass from my elbow!!

Or why should i take the whole book to the ground when i only need to take 1 ticket!!

Or there is 4 people in my family so i have to take all the tickets around in my handbag,last time i done this i put my back out and had a fortnight off work lifting the damm thing!!

we are upsettin the punters though! why rirk losing ur book? Apparently the south stand was full so they used it as an excuse not to let people in.

I stood next to the guy who got stopped at the turnstile. He asked the turnstile operator why he needed the book and the operator replied, "so we know its your ticket". He them asked the question, "if I brought the book how would you know that I was the person on the front of the book" which is a valid point.

The club are being really petty with this. If you've got a spare ticket you should be able to give it to someone else to use. Its been happening for donkeys years and its never going to change. Its not as if there is a big black market for tickets.

Why don't the club get with the times and have cards which you just scan as you go in? We have had them for years. It is meant to be a new stadium. Where are the moderns facilities to make things easier?

Do the club realise that an unpleasant experience for a fan could mean they don't buy a ticket again... that needs sorting.

The club has been clear on this (in a relaxation of the rules after the first game)

Bring your season ticket booklet....rip the voucher out before reaching the turnstile......show your booklet at the turnstile when handing your voucher in.

Agree we need to move with the times. Its okay people saying u know the rules but when they change so often its confusing!

agree, if u cant make the match then give it ur mate and they can go. Whats the harm? But the rumour of a ticket forging scam must be the worry for the club, they must want to avoid another situation like the first game at the hj when hundreds sneaked in over walls and with forged tickets.

As for the whole contractual relationship / using mates ticket etc, this is a problem for all sports clubs. Some have spent thousands of pounds introducing additional technology. Some have actually increased prices (thus reducing the benefit of season tickets) to compensate them for such use.

yep when i was going in (near the rodney end) the stewards were telling people to rip the tickets out the book ready

Utter toss, what does it matter? How about lost revenue from people who may pay to come to a game? Think that's fairly important, don't you?
Quite a lot of people try to get in using junior tickets both home and away, go and blame them, or is that acceptable as its human nature?

We should rent our stadium from a football club, we'd have one then eh? That's the only reason you have one.
