| The Mrs is going to see Take That tomorrow @ the City of Manchester stadium. I've suggested she gets the train & walks from Piccadilly, but I can't find any details of the walking route.
Has anyone got details of how you get onto it from Piccadilly?

| Don't know what funds are like in the Fearnhead household (although living 2 seconds away I suppose I could guess!)
For safety and piece of mind a taxi to stadium from Picadilly will be a 5er. That will save her little legs before the standing around waiting for the show to start.
After the show there will be literally 100's of people walking back to there, so should be a lot safer then.
If you care not for the wife's safety, head out of picadilly station, down the approach, first right, follow that road down all the way, cross the dual carridge way, behind some new flats/retail park, take a right and keep walking. (And keep an eye eye for middle aged women in flashing bunny ears, if in doubt, follow them!!!)

| I've walked a couple of times, but wouldn't let the wife do it.
I don't wish to cast aspersions on all the inhabitants of the estates you pass through en route. They are inner city estates though, with all the social and economic problems that you would expect. Sh*tholes in other words.

| Get off at Piccadily, walk to Kro Bar (and possibly have a cheeky drink) >> On Parker Street / Portland Street (where all the bus stops are next to Piccadily gardens) and catch the 216 bus to Eastlands.. cost about £2 return. Bit of a boring long walk to Eastlands and it's a hole to boot.

| You can get the 216 stagecoach bus IIRC, Think they go from London road, which is practically next to Piccadilly. But at most, be about £7 in a taxi!

| Depending on how many are going with her, we have a mini bus there and back for £60. It could be cheaper than the train and taxi's!
