Sally Cinnamon once wrote quite a long post on here that started along the lines of:

Well, I could either tell the truth and just say that I've had a long term break from this place as it started to get on my nerves and I'd sort of stopped enjoying coming on here (which was the point, obviously) or I could tell some sort of elaborate lie that would win me the hearts & minds of a message board, maybe even the nation, which wouldn't be right, so ...

I've just been doing voluntary work mainly, spent a lot of time in Africa. It's all about the kids faces ain't it ?

Its all about getting your facebook full of pictures with you with African kids faces to prove your credentials as an enlightened middle class white liberal.

When I was in the Congo some of the stories were heartbreaking. I met this 12 year old militia rebel called Thembo who didn't have enough ammunition to reload his AK47. Fortunately a few letters to David Cameron and the arms dealers were on their way.

sorry, but these days, nothing on here is classic funny, not near the brilliance of 'ajay-isms' from some time ago.

The post about the new banner at the top of the board at the start of 2010 IIRC (might have been 2009), when somebody started the thread asking who was on the left of the banner, that was a good thread with a few classics:

Just before my time was Ajay. Think he stopped just as I started posting regularly, although I do remember a few.
