Rumour has it alot of people turned away not having there season ticket having pulled out there ticket instead. Interesting.

If true what goes through peoples mind sometimes becasue the club gave enough warning to people before hand.

Do you do nothing at all apart from slag off the club and the club shop? Warning was given some time ago.

Never mentioned the club shop once. Don't see the problem. Heard a few supporters on about it on gmr radio after match.

Hmm I saw those warnings...several times....so I took all 3 books with me. (I usually do anyway, just in case) Pain in the rear at this stage but heyho I managed.

Why do the turnstile operators have to write numbers on the back of EVERY ticket, thus holding the queue up?

Maybe it's something to do with working out the total attendance?

They don't !

Thought they'd do that by total amounts of tickets sold (why do they have to do that computer inputting when you buy a ticket at the kiosk), and surely they'll have counters built into the turnstiles

It be just a 2nd count not really sure, but that is the only thing i could think of tat makes sense, can't think any other reason they would right a number on the back of ticket

Where was this warning given? if I didn't come on this site the first I would have heard is when a steward walked up and down the queues saying please don't tear your ticket out of your book?

Btw I've Always took my full season ticket and tore out the ticket in front of the turnstile operator it makes sense.

Each turnstile has a computer reader on it. That how they get attendance. And the ticket thing has been warned about on here.

I'm sure it say's it in the book, and they told me when i bought my season ticket.

im sure it says in your season ticket you have to take the book! and now theyre just trying to cut down on the people that dont i guess!

No problem at all with taking the full season ticket to games!!
The only thing i had a problem with was a bloke in the east stand with gloves on tryin to tear a ticket out of the book and havin great difficulty,I know it was cold today but gloves and ripping tickets out of books do not go ,hence entrance to the east stand gate 9 -10 was a little clogged up....

It looked no better at the entrances at the West side corner of the South stand.

to be fair thats probably a condition that i could find in my 1981 Wilderspool south stand season ticket. which is why ive always taken my full book.

just wanted to know where this "warning" was given out i dont have a problem with it, it stops people giving their match ticket away to any random person that they wouldnt trust with their full book, if they cant attend.

i think it caused problems today that could have been avoided

I know what yer saying ,Today reminded me of the first game at the HJ what some seven years ago now,things a little dissorganised people not quite sure where they should be which queue to be in etc,I know its different but man utd seem to get over 75,000 through their turnstyles every 2 weeks without so much as a hitch so whats going wrong?????

United have more than 7x the turnstiles for the 7x spectator. They have spent thousands on computerised turnstiles and most importantly MOST supporters dont turn up 15-20 minutes before kickoff.

As for warnings, I did hear that all season ticket holders had received letters from the club about the new ticket arrangements hence why i asked a question weeks ago as my daughter hadnt

I rip my voucher out while queuing and show the book as I hand it over, and have done for years without a problem. I understand that all season ticket holders were sent a letter, although I didn't get one.

I would imagine there's no problem doing it in front of the gateman. As others have said, it's something that's always been in the booklet.

I went with 4 other season ticket holders and none of us got a letter. We all took the full book anyway so that wa fine, although the only complaint is the queue to get in! Took well over 20mins and we missed the first try!

Oh not the only complaint sorry the south stand was very jam packed, and we had to watch the game stood by the wall on the yellow walkway.

On a positive note: this supports the idea for expanding the stadium!!
And a cracking game to watch!!! Impressed by Joel after a dodgy pre season
