What were we thinking leaving Gleeson out?

He was the best one of our backs in the World Cup and I remember him being quite good in some of the Tri Nations when Noble was coach as well as well as when England A nearly beat them at Griffin Park and Gleeson was quality against them.

He seems to have become the forgotten man since leaving Warrington but he had a good season with Wigan and has now won SL and he's got the pedigree and past record to perform at this level.

Would it have made a difference to the result, no, but that's not the point, we have very few outside backs now Carney has retired, who are in the calibre required to play Test RL. Gleeson is one of them, in fact he is probably the only one left.

I think he's burnt his bridges with his distruptive behavior off the field, it seems funny that he was 1st choice GB/Eng centre then all of a sudden he gets overlooked with the likes of Tony Clubb getting the nod over him, and i think he will probabley get overlooked again next year with Shenton and Bridge being the 1st choice centres.

However notice how Sally Cinnamon always comes up with the solution after we cop a hammering.....

Where are these ideas before we select our teams????? It is too late now Sally.......

His form this year could merit him a place but we will have see how he get's on next year. Ill be expecting Bridge and Shenton/Atkins to be ahead of him however.

Most of the 2008 World Cup backs will never play for England again.
Wellens, Gardner, Gleeson, Senior, Smith (maybe) Pryce and Burrow.
Right or wrong that's how it will be.
McGuire quite possibly may play if fit.

Think you'll find that Sally and others were calling for this some weeks ago.
