Life is beautiful is one of my top 5 films, i cried 2 different ways at that film in joy, and pain when he is =#FFFFFFshot by the Germans. A truly magnificent film, if no one has seen it, it comes highly recommeded.

Should point out, European cinema.

Not seen a massive number of European films, but from what I have seen I really liked the original French version of Nikita and even better was the original Dutch/Flemish version of The Vanishing (better than the American remake in every way possible).

I think we can blanket-rule out any American or English-language remakes of any European features. Watered down versions of great films for those morons who can't be d to read subtitles. I hope the remake of Let The Right One In dies on its sorry, swollen yankee behind.

It also comes highly spoiled now as well, Yed...

Switchblade Romance.

Nosferatu... notably ripped off by Stephen King for his character "Mr Barlow" in Salem's Lot.

Enter the Void is another good french movie.

The king of european cinema is surely Pierre Woodman.....His 'Madness' trilogy is fantastic....

M is really good.

I do love a bit of foreign cinema, though haven't seen much new lately. The Mesrine movies were fantastic, very cool.

Best european film i seen is pan's labyrinth. Also enjoyed the kite runner but thats about afghanistan in 79. Also recommend district 13 and the brazilian film city of god.

Two of my favourite films are La Haine and Gomorroh. I also really enjoyed Priceless with Audrey Tattou

I went to a screening of The Life of Others in 2007 and at the end of the film the staff announced a Q&A session with Florian von Donnersmarck, the director. All very odd. He stood there for half an hour fielding questions.
