Salford's biggest problem is that the population of the city itself as changed so much from the days when they considered themselves a big club.... Without wanting to bring any unneccesary race issues into this, Salford's population becomes more and more 'non-rugby' everyday, with the ethnic numbers increasing all the time....I think it is well accepted that they have little interest in our game, thus where are Salford expecting to entice their new fans from???

They said all this about Warrington, remember the laughs from fans of other clubs when we were getting crowds of 5000 and 6000 in Wilderspool and were talking about building a 14000 stadium to watch the dire wires have another season of mediocrity

Why would he want to go to Salford.

Wire had at least been flirting with success in the 80's & 90's and were certainly an established top tier side (Never relegated). We also had a very dormant support. Certainly not a sleeping giant, but a following that if aroused from its slumber could definitely warrant a new ground.

Salford, whatever Wilkinson and the die-hards might say, are a different proposition....A club that goes hand in hand with mediocrity, I admire the ambition, but just feel that whatever they attempt in that particular area, they will be met with apathy. Crowds will definitely rise, but I just don't see them reaching the levels that will be needed to sustain their aims. They are another Huddersfield...Nice ground, shame about the fans...
