Anyway, offically the pope cannot ask the queen questions related to religion. Afterall, this is a STATE visit, not a religious one. The pope is here is head of the Vatican NOT as head of the catholic church. When it comes to the cost of his visit, I've heard differing figures ranging from £12m to £15m, but at least 50% was funded by the Catholic church (some out of my own pocket).

If you don't agree with the tax payer having to foot any of his cost, you can blame Gordon Brown as he was the one who invited His Holiness.
