I believe we can do it this time. Why, because it's got to a point now where they are more worried about losing than we are of losing. This could be our last game at KR and they will be desperate to beat us. If we win they will squirm just like "slugs covered in salt" and it will be agony

Strangely I actually think we'll win at the moment.

Wont win. It's Saints, at Knowsley Road (or anywhere). The usual backdrop of "never have a better chance" has reared it's head again. Does us no favours.

We all know the storyline for tonight. We score first, all go bananas. Saints respond before HT comes and we are leading or narrowly losing but go in to the dressing rooms with real hope.
Second half starts, remains close for 15 minutes before Saints score 3 in 5 minutes and kill the game capitilising on a Wire error.
We score 2 in the last 10 minutes to make it a one score game for the last few minutes before forcing the play from the kick off, lose possession and Saints score to end the game.

We will win.

You have a great chance. Lomax is looking like he's not going to make it. We'll have some ridiculous and previously untried halfback combination.

We're arguably in as good a position to beat them tonight than ever before!

But I still have this niggling feeling that we'll come up short. I mean, from my point of view, Saints played very average in our last two meetings and still we couldn't get the win.

We have improved tenfold this season, crucially in the mental department. And we need to beat them this time.

I've lost count how many times I've gone to Saints games thinking 'we've really got a chance of beating them this time' with the injuries they've had over the years. And with the Cunningham 'not on my watch' tagline I'll go tonight expecting a narrow defeat again, but in the words of Mr Keegan 'i would LOVE IT if we beat them'

Whilst I want us to win in the worst way, I just can't bring myself to believe it can happen.

If we do win tonight, on the back of the CCF, we'll be unstoppable, however!

the fact eastmond and pryce are out gives us a very good chance if we play as well as we can i am sure we will win. ive not been this confident for a saints game in years come on the wire lets delivericon_smile.gif

im a wigan fan and it was great to see wigan win there and its nice to see thm beat you but tonight i have a feeling you will win. and it will not be close if you win it wil be a demolishing its due and i bet you lot would agree with me ? anyhow on the bright side if you lose you will probs plays them again and get the chance to beat them second time to get to the final so really little question which to you is more important

Our pack has to perform on a par with Wembley if we're going to do it tonight. Saints are going to be really revved up for this, no half backs or no half backs will make no difference imo. Cunningham and Roby will rip us apart at marker if we let them and will keep us on the back foot. If we don't match them down the middle we'll lose (again). Massive game from all required again.

From the title I thought this thread was about Knowsley Road itself (anybody seen anything about the reason for the playoffs being a week earlier was the fact that the safety certificate on KR runs out just after what is the current week3..rumoured about feb/March this year).

Anyways....the game. Wire certainly have the ability to beat St helens at the moment. The one thing that need to watch is forcing that "last" pass. If some of the passes at the HJ had gone to the winger instead of just infront or just behind this whole "hope we beat them" would be academic by now.

Whats the chances of Eastmond passing a "late" fitness test???

Saints are playing Fasavalu and Graham in the half backs positions, they are THAT low on numbers, if you don't win tonight, you can give us yer Challenge Cup Ok?
