| About this game we love, the teams that are in SL, the teams that are not, franchising etc etc.
Is there anything you want to get off your chest in general.
Here's my idiotic ramblings for the RLFANS public to rip apart
1. I like the fact there is no promotion/relegation, i feel for the guys it hurts but i think it will help the game, i don't know why it will help the game but the arguments [ifor [/isound better and i haven't really understood the full gist of 'promoting youth' because clubs are 'safe' from going down maybe I'm gullible.
2. Wakefield: All you wakey fans, you are not merging with Cas, you are sharing a stadium. If you don't agree then I'm sorry it's time to go and let someone else have a go. What's wrong with you people ?
I'll preempt your comments, [iyes i would share a ground with Widnes[/i
3. Catalans/Crusaders/Quins, you have my vote
4. Why do the RFL not market this game almost everyone i have introduced to this game have loved it (except my wife) my ex even nailed one of the players she loved it that much.
5. Playoffs: TOO MANY TEAMS most people think this
6. Always thought we'd get better crowds if we split the league into an east and west, similar(ish) to NFL then we would have 2 leagues of 10 with top 2 in each playing off for the big one at OT, local games for most of the season with the exception of one or two games would help with crowds too.
7. Do Red Hall favour Leeds and Morley ?
8. Is talking about ticket sales and how many people are going to games really a rugby discussion ?
Marketing and Travel and Tourism for me, why do we have to do it every week ?
9. Are Wire going to expand the stadium, yes we have all seen the engineering link but are they actually doing it ?
10. Does anyone, even one person agree with the new rule of dragging into touch ? It's the worst rule since Stalin
11. Is the 'put on report' a cop out ?
Over to you people, feel free to discuss my post or bring up your own inane ramblings.

| Put on report is a cop out, the games are reviewed anyway so is a pointless exercise. The player should be punished at the time, with the benefit going to the team that are getting the penalty, not the team the offending player plays next if he gets a ban or whatever

| The dragging into touch rule is a joke one week you will do it and be penalised the next week you will do exactly the same and get penalised take it back to how it used to be we never fussed then.
Also if someone kicks the ball dead from there own half it should be a tap on the 30/40.
The playoffs have to many teams i saw a suggestion on another board saying there should be 7 team in the playoffs and give the league leaders the 1st week off which could be a good idea which truely rewards teams for 1st place

| A true reward for the league leader is a spot in the final. Play off down five teams to meet league leaders. Yed, the East/West idea may have some mileage in it, i like that. As with the NRL the league will favour big name players and clubs after all it is they who bring the cash in! Unless Mr Moran can start lining up some music/other events at the stadium on a regular basis the ends of the ground will not be filled in because we will not get the extra fans.

| I agree that the winner of the hub-cap at the end of the regular season so have a bye straight to the final.

| I agree with the "league winners bye to final" argument. I guess the problem is this may lead to lack of match practice for 3-4 weeks for the winners.

| I think league winners should go straight to grand final as they have performed the best throughout the season, that is way they are top. There others should then play off to have the right to play league winners for super league title.

1) I'd like to see contested scrums, players packing down properly and with the ball fed into the middle.
2) I'd like to see the return of promotion and relegation as I believe it is the essence of a sporting league.
3) I also think it is getting expensive to watch RL. Even at Warrington we have seen an 64% price increase for adult standing since 2003. (£11 -> £1icon_cool.gif
4) Opposition kicking the ball dead should result in 40m restart.

Not a gripe but, to pass a boring afternoon, you could expand on the "ex nailing a player" if it's not too raw.

month after we had split and it was me who originally broke us up so i wasn't bothered, not naming names like. We actually talk and she might look on here, she used to watch football but i full on converted her to RL, she still goes watching and even takes clients/colleagues.

| I would really love to see two leagues of top tier.
East v West leagues
i think that way we would improve the crowds of not only ourselves but the lesser supported clubs too.
Less games to play means either more gimmicks to fit in or more international rugby.
We could even bring back promotion/relegation

| Regarding promotion / relegation. You can understand the arguement of giving teams chance to settle in Superleague and to stop the yoyoing between divisions experienece in previous years BUT, given that its the same championship side at the top of their division, most of whom have already "qualified" for SL apart from getting a vote, how about setting up a two game playoff. 14th in SL plays the championship GF winners, 13ths plays GF runners up. Winners get to play in SL.
If it turns out that the promoted team ends up going down, then they still have a chance of proving they are better than the team lookign to replace them.

| Not so sure on the top-team straight into the GF as this could in the current set up come down to points difference and even the old argumnet of "who get the easy extra game". How about 6 teams, first and second play each other and winner into the GF. The remaining 4 teams play a knock-out to play the loser of 1v2 in the GF.
The 1v2 could be played on the middle playoff weekend so that the winners get a game between the last league match and the GF

Catalan
Toulouse(someone has to have the French)
they could even have the fixtures so that both away games in france are a week apart. Just a thought. If non of this happened though i wouldn't lose any sleep.

| Personally I hate the 3 man in a tackle tactic that Wigan have adopted....2 up top and one straight in on the back of the knees, feel this is a real dirty tactic that could end up finishing someones career... :

So essentially, the last top 6 play off system?
I don't agree when the ball goes dead it should be on the 30/40m line. Thats eating up over a quarter of the pitch. An option kick on the 20m is just about right IMO and should stay like that.
East V West? Gimme a break. The quality in Yorkshire this season has been dire, and would see crowds drop significantly especially as clubs like Wigan would be making less frequent trips to the other side of the Pennines. Like it or not, Saints, Wigan and even ourselves in recent years pull in crowds across the boarder.
And where has this phrase of 'contested scrums' come from? They have always been contested and still are, there has been no change to the rule. This has come about from coaches who would rather see their team defend than waste time in the scrum where they are more susceptible to conceding a try.
The one thing I would change is to bring back the top 5 play off format. Eight is far too many and six was pushing it, but I feel 5 was just about right with the winner getting a week off after the regular season.

| A better standed of refs, and linesmen who doing something during the game.Too many games are spoilt by poor calls by the refs.I think video refs at every game, would solve this problem.
Scrums should be scrapped and just let them play the ball.
It should be 45 mins each half as well.
