| As a relatively new Wire fan (2007), I don't know a lot about our past players and teams. Could you guys make me two teams of the best ever Wire players?
Team 1 would be the best players to have played for the Wire (not their contribution to the club). E.g. Andrew Johns would probably be halfback, even though he only played 3 games).
Team 2 would be the best players to have played for and made a big impact at the Wire. E.g. Andrew Johns wouldn't make this team as he was only around for a short time.

For me Langer & Johns had their golden period & built their reps on things they did before us & never produced their best for Warrington.

Obviously both were all time legends and won't be remembered for their days at Warrington, but I would say Langer was close to his best (bearing in mind he was 34) and did deliver consistently for us. We didn't have a great team back then but when we were 15-20m out from the line we usually ended up with a try when Langer was in the team, I used to feel more confident that a try was on when we were within close range back then than I do now even. We are much more capable of scoring from deeper now though.

No Blake? Maybe even Davidson? John Woods could be strongly argued as having his best days elsewhere (Leigh) ? Same goes for Andy Greg (Wigan)
Could probably add McGinty too as when he joined Wigan he became international class. I'd add him before Johnson any day.
Or was this before your time again (ala the Borg exclusion).

Yes I have only seen Blake at Warrington on videos so I didn't include him. On Billy McGinty I thought he was decent but not a great player, a fit Johnson in his Wigan/Bradford days would be ahead for me. Actually I might have Simon Gillies in that second row spot.
Vinnie Anderson may be a good shout for this team, also you could argue Monaghan ahead of Martin Dermott, seeing as Monaghan was close to being the best player in the NRL before he came here. Matt King perhaps as well.

You could slot Adam Doyle in there quite easily. Mind you to be honest you couldn't slot Adam Doyle in anywhere "easily", perhaps just about in the Mersey Tunnel but that would be about it...
