Good to see our best prospects getting the chance to step up and train with the first team, hopefully over the next couple of seasons they will get the chance to get on the pitch if we get a good challenge cup tie. Two of them are half backs so hopefully soon if there is an injury in the halfs one of these two can step up

yea the under 20's are awful.

It has been up until now. Hopefully these lot will develop and add Warrington to the list of clubs capable of competing consistently through developing from within.

For example Saints 19 this week has 14 academy developed players in it. The Wire one will have maybe 5/6?

5/6 isnt non existent its just low compared to yours and wigans, we will start to have more players coming through the academy as warrington are becoming more succesfull so will want to join the warrington academy rather than joining saints/wigan

Now? You think this has happened overnight?

Lets be honest we are doing OK. We have made up a fair bit of ground on Saints, Leeds, Wigan from where we were a few years ago.

Still a long way to go but lets congratulate those involved for the progress made.

I'm sure its because we have paid out 1 or 2 transfer fee's for quality players that people like you label us as a team that doesn't give youth a chance...And before you start banging on about Saints youth players the reason so many have been blooded is because you are skint....

We're not top of the Valvoline academy for nothing, there's a lot of quality in our youth sides. Jordan Burke, Evans x2, Gareth O'Brien, Liam Hulme, Alex Thompson, Craig Harvey, Jack Cooper. Richard Marshall is guiding these lads really well and produce some really good stuff.

All players issued with a squad number at the beginning of the season are full time and train together.

He's in the first team squad - has been since last season. Interesting though - with Monas and Higham signing new deals I hope he sticks around - looks really promising.

I would've thought he'd be a candidate for duel registration, or possibly a proper loan move somewhere else,

just as a slight sidetrack to this, on the duel registration, i know there's been mixed feelings on this from some of the championship coaches, some making use of it to the full(leigh), some staying away from it altogether(halifax) and some using it but getting fed up of not having duel registered player (haven).

From a selfish POV, is it being beneficial to us. I only ask, as in the odd occasions that they've played Mitch hasn't been as good as he was last year, tyke's not played an awful lot but from what i can recall he was pretty noticable last season when he got his chance, i can't remember having seen much from him on his (2?) first team appearances. And obviously blythe hasn't been in the team.

i'm not expecting players to have developed into superstars whilst playing in the championship, I can see the worth to them but if they're coming back and not playing as good as they were before.

Indeed but I think a noticeable reason for this upsurge in our young talent is John Bastin. Look at his legacy at Leeds and we can be very hopeful that his legacy, along with that of Squadbuilder & the trust, is as successful as it is at Headingley.

And how nice for them to be coached by a coach with a level of credentials other than just being an ex-player.
