Picked this up on on eof the Aussie websites....
FORMER Roosters utility Nat Wood is set to become the latest ex-leaguie to convert to boxing.
Wood yesterday revealed plans to follow his little brother and The Contender winner Garth into the ring, with the pair having started sparring together recently.
"It's something I've been thinking about - maybe having a fight on one of Garth's cards when he returns [from a broken hand," Wood said.
"He's just started sparring again and we've had a few sessions together.
"We go good."
Probably too old to make a proper fist of it, but he did pack a punch!

It is the Lowes one that I remember, Lowes through a punch at Wood who then landed about 6 super quick shots on Lowes nose and Jaw. Both Sin Binned but I doubt Lowes remebers seeing the card.

i remember cull telling this story at a q+a once, when someone asked about hardmen in rugby, he said nat was one of them.
he also said that when lowes walked past cull to the sinbin, with blood seeping from his mouth, he said to cull "well,you cant argue with that!" |
