A management team in charge who had the cahones to do what they actually say ie, kickiing teams out that have breached the salary cap, not giving franchises to teams with rubbish stadiums etc.

Graded punishments for the salary cap breaking though.

i.e. Grade A offence could be breaking the cap by more than 100k, Grade B could be breaking it by 50k to 99k and Grade C could be up to 49k.

Then punishments to suite. Grade A would result in 10 point deduction, B would be say 6 points and C would be say 2?

Making sure that *modern* coaching methods such as the young Aussie coaches obsession with wrestling tactics which are ruining the game are nipped in the bud. Stopping the referee shouting MOVE would be a start.

When did they actually say any of this?

Prior to this first franchise licence period the penalties for breaching the salary cap were set out and enforced. It was Wigan (supported bt their arch-rivals St Helens) who challenged the rules with a potentially financially crippling to the RFL legal challenge if the RFL would have resisted further.

Teams with "rubbish" stadiums are marked-down in that area of appraising submissions as per the criteria.

Scrap these:

1) "Wolves", "Bulls", "Rhinos", "Warriors", "Tigers", "Wildcats", "City Reds", "Giants" and "Dragons".

2) Cringeworthy music played after points are scored to the detriment of natural un-choreographed celebration.

Change the points system. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw & a bonus point if you score 5 tries or more

Bring back relegation/promotion immediately. If your not good enough to be in this league you should be put there in the first place. Paris St. Germain, Catalans(1st season) & Celtic Crusaders (1st season). Giving room for Teams that deserve to be here through promotion.

So you can lose and get the same points as you do for drawing?

That always annoys me too, when the referee shouts "move". All the referee needs to do is penalise a player if he doesn't move. He shouldn't be telling them when it's OK to move, in my opinion.

I think he meant scrap the moniker, e.g. Warrington Wolves would become just Warrington.

I think the penalties for breaking the salary cap have been dubious in the past though. A few years back when Halifax were in the group of three that broke the cap they were all deducted 2 points because Halifax only had 2 points at the time.

Penalising someone like Saint 2 points which, at most, would drop them from top to second, or 2nd to 3rd isn't such a major problem. But if they had broken it more than Halifax, then take more points off.

1. How about giving the blokes with flags something to do? Let them control offside at play the ball and have the ref monitoring the ptb. The two of them looking at each other across the pitch will be able to see clearly if anyone is off side.

2. Either scrap scrums or let teams contest them. I know peolpe will say we'll end up like union with re-sets all the time but a ball straight down the middle for the hookers to contest would be a lot more exciting.

So the greedy Super League clubs could retain the financial security of knowing they wouldn't be going down irrespective of the consequences for aspirational non Super League clubs.

The RFL will say that had nothing to do with it of course but it was funny how none of the existing twelve missed the cut despite one or two being on shaky ground wasn't it?
