Hypothetically speaking; we want rid of a player who is on a SL salary. I would imagine the only place he could go is to NL as SL clubs would be pretty much spent up. The vastly lesser NL cap, probably, couldn't accomodate his current deal, so we would end up picking a fair slice of the tab.

Added to this, the salary difference between a RL international, recently moved to RU would be humongous.

If Hicks goes at the end of the year, would be an able replacement if we could get him in and not break salary cap. Pennys wages are the problem i fear.

His best position is FB I reckon, but he is also a very good winger and can fill in at centre. Maybe Smith has realised Mathers doesn't look like getting back to being the player he was when he had him at Leeds.

Either way, I'd put a few quid on this coming off.

He's an excellent full back, good winger, poor centre.
