| class act tonight, thought he was the best of our forwards. And with Morley and Carvell facing bans for next week looks like he'll have to step up big time.

| As good as Woody is playing i doubt very much he could take on Wigan all on his todd. If the four props on show against Wigan are made out of the following then i think we are in trouble;
Wood
Cooper
Westwood
Anderson (Louis)
Neale
Harrison
Not just because we have lost our two frontline props who are playing well but because it will weaken the forwards elsewhere.
After watching Wigan last night I thought we would beat them in the forwards but without Morley and Carvell im not so sure.

| For some reason, Woody seems to have to justify his place in the minds of Wire fans at the beginning of every season, more so than most other players. The fact is that his level of performance is and always has been consistently excellent either side of a couple of very nasty back-to-back injuries. Without knowing what salary he is on, I'd take a guess that he's easily one of the best value-for-money players the club has on its books.

| He looks fitter than he has for a few years & he has bulked up a lot to be a better size. When he came back from injury last season I thought he wasn't big enough to play prop.

Yeah, we looked like the team at the start of last season when he was on the pitch. I know when SEB did his stats he used to be well up there but last night he seemed to have a negative effect on our playing style.
As for Woody, he was awsome, great performance, very strong and loving the beard, 80's beardtastic.

My thoughts exactly (and add to that maintaining power - even when tackled he still went forward a couple of yards - like the Woody a couple of years ago)

| If Woody stays fit he's in for a tremendous season, and a nice new contract.

| I think the fact he missed out on the Challenge Cup win and how he almost retired due to injury has made him work harder than he ever has, he has a point to prove to himself and credit to him... he's turning into a ball handling prop who can throw a dummy or two lets hope these performances continue and he stays injury free!

For the use of his elbow in the tackle with Jackson in the first half

| I wouldn't say that Paul Wood has to justify himself in the eyes of Wire fans every year, most Wire fans like him, there might be one or two people who use this forum, who last season when we were garbage, and they were looking to complain about everything, brought up his injuries as a reason to say he would never be the same player again or so on.
Since Harris and Sculthorpe came through, Wood has been the best player who has come through our academy, Ben Harrison might challenge him for that but he's not done enough yet.

I was at the game too and was unsure what the fuss was over but after seeing on sky it seemed to me that Jackson ran into Carvell very awkwardly.. yes his elbow was raised a little but he certainly wasnt leading with it.. But i guess its up for the panel to decide
As for Moz, i was suprised Raleigh got cleared for flooring Matt Orford last week in a similar incident so hopefully he will be let off with that one
