what's the best thing you've ever won by entering a competition?

I won an Amiga computer when I was a kid (they were actually really sought after then) in a competition I only entered in the hope of winning the runners up prize of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for my Spectrum.

I also forgot about it as I entered loads of magazine competitions back then and never won but I got home from school one day and there it was waiting for me.

Not a comp as such but i won a blue peter badge just by drawing a dog when i was 8 years old .Still have badge and letter Enid cant think of her last name sent me.Won a x box last year plus £140 a week or so ago on slot machines in a cafe in St Helens.

Two tickets to see Take That at Milton Keynes on their come back tour. I had entered loads and just forgot until they turned up one day. Unfortunately I couldnt go so I sold them and made £80 =)

When I actually win a competition I will let you know what the prize is, and that will be the best thing I have ever won.

I won a set of tyres worth £250 for my bike a few years ago at a show in stoke.

I reluctantly paid £1 for Tony Myler's Testamonial raffle a few years back whilst working in W****s,my mate was well p****d off when it was announce at half time that i'd won the £500 first prize.

I won a VIP trip to watch Warrington Town in the FA Vase final at Wembley which included a meal, tour round wembley, the dressing room, on the pitch before watching the game from the royal box. Pity our coach left before we got in it after the game due to us fighting with West Ham on the Wembley forecourt.

I also won the face in the crowd competition a few years back and won a photo of Wolfie

I once entered the Engage competition to win tickets for 2 to the Perpignan game inc flights and hotel. Just like you Slim I forgot I had entered it til they phoned me and told me I had won.

I met John Barnes after winning a competition in the John Barnes fan club in 1991. He gave me some cool stuff which I ruined, as you do when you're a kid, a signed team photo, his training jacket stuff like that. He seemed to like it that I re-inacted his goal from the Maracana in '84 for him, complete with actual TV commentary.

I was a bit obsessive about him back then.

I once won passes for an exclusive Julian Lennon sort of press promo gig in that London tahhn. Being young and massively, massively obsessed with John Lennon at the time, I was over the moon and practically out of the door when my fascist dictator parentals reminded me I was to sit my mock GCSEs the day after and promptly withheld said passes. Cue an almighty teenage strop.

I missed my mock GCSEs anyway, as it was, kidney infection or something. I think we've all learnt something there.
