It seems strange that the Australian press aren't full of rumours about where this 'big name' player will be strutting his stuff next year.

Has he signed a new contract with Parramatta?

Smith was quoted in monday's League Weekly something a long the lines of "I can rule that out, he won't be coming here". So I think it's a given that we won't be getting him due to totally different responses when questioned about Myler and Atkins in the past.

I find it funny that a couple of pages on from it being ruled out, Dave 'Nosey' Parker try's to make it out that he's on his way to us due to his agent being at the cup final. Funny thing is he later mentions that his agent is also Chris Hicks & Matt Kings agent, no wonder he was there!

What a shame. I think we would have had the best pack in SL with the addition of Moi Moi.

With Him and Solomona in rotation with Cavell and Morley - and not forgetting Harrison - what a sight that would have been.

Even so, I think we can still be very optimistic for next season!!

why hasn't smith said that then. Surely if that was the case warrington would dismiss anymore overseas signings with your very reason.

Both Solomona and Vinnie were both trained overseas ,I think there was some sort of dispensation for certain players but that only lasted until they left the club they were at when the new rules came out ,hence why the pies are keeping certain players that in other years they would have got rid of ,I think thats what may be confusing a few people
on reading this I may be wrong ,maybe someone can con firm if Vinnie and Solomona are federation or overseas

After consultation with engage Super League clubs at this week’s end of season meeting, the RFL board has approved an extension to a recent exemption to the club trained rules.

At the meeting held in Harrogate, engage Super League clubs unanimously agreed that the club trained rules should remain and that a number of players registered in the competition prior to the adoption of the club trained rules should count as federation trained players.

Clubs also agreed that any legal case brought against the RFL for introducing such rules should be defended vigorously.

Rod Findlay, the RFL’s in-house lawyer said: “The club trained rules were introduced at the start of the year to increase the number of home produced players in the top flight. Clubs are fully behind these rules and reaffirmed their support this week.

“What this extension does is accommodate those players who have made a career in the game before they were aware of the possibility of club trained rules. Long term once the people qualify for the current exemption retire the club trained rules will do what they were designed to do and that is bring through more home grown talent.”

To take advantage of the extension of the exemption a player must apply to the RFL to be ‘federation trained’ at the end of their current contract. They also must have registered with the RFL prior to 1 February 2008, the date when the club trained rules were introduced.

Their status as a federation trained will then apply throughout their career, even if they move clubs

Solo is classed as fed trained..if tadulala resigns with bradford hes clased as fed trained..chris nero next yr if he stays in sl will also be fed trained etc..theres loads knocking about now.

Nobody in Super League.

He didn`t half get banjoed a few times this morning in the game against the Bulldogs, the first hit i think from Hannant was a belter, Moi Moi is a top player though and just bounces back.

Had a brilliant game for Parramatta today.

It's all the usual contract games. Anderson won't let Moimoi go. He's critical to Parra's (Anderson's) style of play. He's been a true enabler for the style in the 2nd half of this year.

Plus the 'going on to England' bit is definitely tripe. He is just showing Parra, as if they didn't already know, that he'd walk into the SL and get top dollar, so they need to pay him what he's worth if they want to keep him. A lot of NRL players throw the SL round when it comes to contract time, just to show the club they are at that they know what they can earn if they go overseas. Visibility of salary cap info between NRL clubs is relatively transparent and teams seem to know what gaps there are in other clubs caps, whereas the SL is much more cloudy. This makes it easier for agents and players to say they can earn $x if they move to the SL and hopefully force their club to cough up. With visibility of the other NRL club's caps being better, the clubs can have a good guess what a player can get if he moves to another specific NRL team, so it’s harder for players/agents to bargain.

Also, his 9-year old Son lives in Tonga and Fui loves the fact that him or his son gets to fly out and meet up relatively regularly. His son will not be moving away from Tonga. Word on the Parra forums is there is no way he'd leave Australia and be even further removed from his son. He's supposedly publicly said this at a Parra event, but I cannot find a link to it. I read it some time ago. It was definitely said though.
