It's their own fault. That league has been incredibly competitive all season apart from Docaster. There's been some good Rugby in it, Sheff v Barrow last night was really entertaining.

totally agree,each of the top 6 are quite capable of beating each other.throw in Gateshead aswell,they're more than capable of running up a cricket score,which they will at Donny on sunday.

And bear in mind that we've done the double over both Sheffield and Widnes this season, and ran Halifax very close last week!

They might just be OK. Gateshead will win at Doncaster, and Leigh should now beat Whitehaven who have lost 4 players to Swine Flu. I don't think that Batley will win at Fev, but they could well get a bonus point which would mean that Leigh would have to win.

We've already beaten 'Haven in the Northern Rail Cup this season, but Fev away is just about as good a tie as Batley could hope. Short trip, similar pitch conditions to their own ground (small pitch, massive slope) against a side with one eye on the play-offs and nowt to play for.

I'm not confident in the slightest, but maybe it's a slight case of trying to avoid building my own hopes up!

Personally I'd like to see Leigh stay up. I have an interest in Thunder, so it's Batley to go for me. Your problem is your crap points difference.

Batley's ability to scrap it out shouldn't be underestimated, however. They've been in that position or thereabouts many times and have a superb record of coming up with results when the chips are down and getting the better of "bigger" clubs.

I just hope Gateshead manage to stay up because they're a club going places, slowly but surely.
