| Going too the final. IS this the biggest sporting event you have ever had...
For me the answer is yes...
For some the answer could be 1990
and for a lucky few th would be 1974 or even 54.

| This is exactly why I hope you lot don't lose. Can you imagine the pain and hurt that would cause? Your first day out in what 19 years and you lose again? That would be horrible. I've lost count of how many major trophies I've seen my team win (Probably 11 or 12) but losing still hurts so I can imagine how bad it's going to be for either the Giants or Wire fans.

Moscow 2008 and Barcelona 1999 were brilliant. But this will top even them

Really, when was the last time you saw Wigan win a trophy?

This was my response to a Wire fan on another board, who suggested it would be a day to forget if we lost:
Nah, don't let anything ruin it.
One of my favourite things ever was the final in 1990 despite Wigan stuffing us. It was still a fantastic day, with some awesome memories:
> The sea of Primrose and Blue who didn't shut up. It was rare to see a large crowd at Wilderspool, so it amazed me seeing the thousands of fans in a fantastic stadium.
> The roar as the teams came out. I wish they still had the tunnel at the end so there was the long walk to the halfway.
> Mike Gregory with his chase back on Shaun Edwards, who managed to offload for another try.
> Greg dragging his team back into it (for a short while) with his great try.
> Seeing Steve Molloy and Mark Roskell sat behind us, and getting my photo with them.
> Dessie t****ing Iro!
Whatever happens, win or lose, this year will give us more memories that will last forever. I won't be letting the score ruin anything.

I have been to old trafford too watch utd play last year.
My dad went wembley in 1990 when he was a bus driver and he has told me that the atmosphere will be like nothing can compare too it.

Lose and I'll be gutted, but by the time I get home I'll be over it. Win and I'll be ecstatic, but by the time I get home... This is in complete contrast to when I was much younger and defeats could take weeks to get over, big wins would keep a grin on my face for days.
In answer to the OP, it is certainly the biggest Wire sporting occasion since 1990, though there have been a few occasions in other sports at least as big if not bigger.

Was going to say these 2.
Being honest wire in a final is coming so close but doubt anything will top the feeling after the moscow final.

At least you're in a perfect position to comment on what losing in a final feels like, bit of a habit for Saints.

| Definately is for me. I started watching warrington in 1993 so missed out on wembley the first time round. Only final I have seen them in is the Regal trophy, but it was in the "wigan era" so we knew we'd get a stuffing before it even kicked off.
I've seen us win a few wire fm challenges, but not sure that counts

| I always made a promise to myself that i would never go to Wembley for any sporting occasion until Warrington get there. Now they finally have I would say it will be a rather special day and I know it will be well worth the very long wait.

| went to the 74 final with friends , the 90s final with wife and son both awesome days out, been wembley for last 2 years but found atmosphere at grand finals better. but this year, i think will top them all especially if we win, but for me win or lose cant wait to get down their and will be proud of the players, the town and my fellow great warrington fans, lets sing the roof off. this year taking grandson who;s been the last 2 , grandaughter who went last year and my son and his partner who have yet to go, still working on the wife, what more could a man want, see you all there, come on you wolves

In fairness the OP was refering to sporting occasions.
I dont think any parent in their right mind would say that going to wembley to watch the wire is a greater experience than watching the birth of their own child/children. In fact I would say wembley comes a distant second

| Went to Wembley for some years, regardless of who was in the final, but 1974 was very special when Wire beat Featherstone. Following year was disappointing when beaten by Widnes, but enjoyed my argument with Jim Mills auntie!
Oh, and the few beers before and after the game.
You will never enjoy an event as much as when your own team are involved.
Can't wait.

| Went in 74, 75 and 90 and enjoyed the lot but I don't think I've ever been as elated as watching Hicks run to the line to clinch the semi-final.
My lads are 16 and 13 and have done the hard yards following 'The Wire' and I'm just delighted their persistence has been rewarded. Also delighted their Grandad will be there with them at the Final.
The result of the Final will not be spoiling the day.
