| I have watched Pryce carefully over the last season and a half.
He gets rave reports from the pundits, (Stevo picks out a MOM every week before kickoff then justifies his decision by praising him throughout the game. Last night it was Kyle Eastmond but its usually Pryce) and Eddy tags along because he doesn't know enough about the game to be able to form his own opinion (Wellens, the best fullback in the world).
I think Pryce is the most over-rated player in the SL. His involvment is very patchy. His tackling is rare to say the least and in attack he hangs back behind the runners waiting for an opportunity to cash in on the work done by everyone else, usually Long.
I repeat, I think he is vastly over-rated and shouldn't be an automatic choice for the England team in October.
Playing in a lesser team than saints his true quality would be exposed.

| I agree to an extent. He can be pretty anonymous at times, like last night.
However when he is on form there is nobody better in SL.

| Pryce is a match winner.
Even when he goes missing in games he will pop up with the winning play.
I bet smith spoke a lot this week about not giving him room.

| Played like an extra forward last night, got through a lot of work, particularly in defence.

| Pryce has come up with match turning plays in several cup finals and grand finals. Like him or not he isnt a passenger.

I disagree. I think he is a passenger - mainly in the first half. Doesn't do much wrong of course but nothing amazing either.
However you are right in so far as he can turn it on in a jiffy and create something from nothing. Usually waiting til the other team have tired. Its either genius or lazy, can't decide.
As a fan I would be frustrated - if he can turn plays to win finals so easily then why not do it all the time???? Show a bit of heart and staying power. Yet if I was in those last few minutes of a final I would probably want nobody else playing for me.

A team needs a mix of players including those that dont do an awful lot then out of nowhere kill matches with a couple of big plays. It goes without saying that all the team cant be like that or you would get tonked but his attributes are every bit as good as a prop that makes steady yards throughout the game.

Last night was the Eastmond show. Potter has brought forward his plans for integrating our young players into the team due to Long's lengthy absence. Eastmond is the guy in the spotlight to take over from Long (or certainly one of them; we have a bit of a glut in the halves at present). Pryce was supporting Eastmond. The whole idea was for Eastmond to direct things in the big games as well as the not so big, with experienced players in backup, as this is what he would have to do when Long is wearing black and white.

Great - I will use that excuse when one of our players is just hanging around for a while
Seriously though I do get your point that a you can't fill a team with work horses nor a team with 'one minute' wonders. However a key position like no 6 in my opinion should have BOTH.

| Leon Pryce is just inconsistent, nothing more, nothing less.
He has torn us apart before at the HJ, he has also had big games against the likes of Leeds and stronger Bradford sides. To me he seems a mood type player, when he is in the mood he can be unstoppable simply because of his size and obvious ability and skill, when he`s not in the mood he cane be fairly annonymous.

These bitter posts make me laugh.
He would walk into warringtons team in any position he fancied, except prop.

Dead right. Someone that should have made more of his talent and size on a more regular basis. But is he a good player? Yes.
Eastmond will be better, a lot better

| Leon Pryce should play centre at international level, he is the closest thing we have to Greg Inglis. Not very close, but you could draw slight comparisons in their playing style.

Would you be talking about Leon Pryce, scorer of the gamebreaking try in two Grand Finals and a Cup Final in the last four years?

| Pryce is one of the very few GB players who looks decent whenever he plays against NZ or Australia. Even when he was stuck on the wing. That is the ultimate test for any of our players so to call him over-rated is complete guff i'm afraid.
