Having seen how well Cooper and Harrison played last night I am believe that the club now needs to start giving more of our youngsters a chance to show what they can do....

I realise you have to be careful with young talent but feel that some time on the pitch albeit off the bench would benefit them.

Look at Saints and the likes of Jonny Lomax, he is only 18 but he is gradually being brought into the Saints team with short spells on the pitch and this will benefit his game and will benefit Saints with their conveyor belt of young talent.

I believe we have some players from the reserves and Academy that can make that step up but need to be given the opportunity.

You saw the reserves yesterday, why are you asking this stupid question?

There will be some players currently at u18 that will make it and they will probably benefit if an u20 competition is brought in next season.

The players I am referring to didn't play in the reserve game yesterday, most of them have been dropped down to the 18's to help them or play in the 18's squad and some of the reserve players I refer to have short term injuries or simply didn't play.....Adam Neal played well for reserves......and I did see game yesterday and reserves awful....but they weren't beginning of season when they had more first choice players available.......that team yesterday is probably their most weakened team...that happens at times....

Oh and wasn't stupid question....what is stupid is to base an opinion on one poor game the reserves have played, when they had many players missing or as I said playing for the 18's or injured ....I was looking at the bigger picture mate and if you know some of the players in the reserves and 18's you will know, they have the potential, I am just hoping they are handled properly and brought through otherwise they go elsewhere as has happened in the past.

Name me one player who we should have kept hold of, who's gone elsewhere.

These are some of the players that can make the step up, not necessarily all are ready right now, but some are already knocking on the door and my only question was that if we are to progress like Saints and Leeds we need to start integrating these young players into the first team environment, where they can develop.

Well Evans and Shaw have been training with the first team so that is exactly what Smith is doing.

They're 16 years old and there's a big difference between 16 and 19 physically. It would be suicide to play schoolkids instead of the players who are currently getting picked.

They are making progress and going in the right direction. As they now have the Wolfpack squad.There have been other players who have trained with the first team, as well and more probably will. So at least we are going in the right direction and I am clearly not suggesting we put 16 year olds in. Which is why I said some are not ready obviously but some are knocking on the door.

The likes of Rhys Williams, Tyrone for example to name but two are knocking on the door and I would like to see us start giving some of these lads a run out. These two are physically ready and we won't know if capable unless we start giving them the occasional opportunity.

Who would you pick Rhys Williams ahead of to give him some experience on the wing? Carney? Hicks? King? Johnson? Riley? Penny?

Would it be Harrison, Westwood, Vinnie or Louis that you dropped to play Tyrone?

Its not about dropping players, some can be rested for part of a game or the odd game to give some of the players you want to bring through the opportunity, otherwise there is no point having youth development and as the new rules indicate over the next few years you have to have more and more homegrown talent in your team it makes sense to blood some, in some games. Its what St Helens are doing, I know some are because of injuries but Jonny Lomax who is only 18 got some game time and Wellens still played. You would soon want them developed if the above players get injured. My point is if you give them some game experience one you will find out what they are made of but also, it will benefit their game and the squad for warrington would have some strength and depth.

Kyle Eastmond has had first team experience for the last couple of years not just this year and has played along Long not just when injured and this will have benefited him. Its not about dropping players but interchanging when appropriate to develop as a club.
