He was an absolute genius. A loose cannon but most definitely a genius.

I would pay good money to watch him, he has everything this current team hasn't,

Jonathan Davies or Phil Blake or Allan Langer spring to mind but Henare was hardly in their bracket. He scored some brilliant tries, but they came down to sheer pace, a bit of strength and bit of bravery / lack of fear.

The closest thing we have is Kevin Penny, unfortunately he's not in the side.

Back to Henare, loved that story about him running rings around the British Lions team on a beach in New Zealand. And they had no idea who he was.

unfortunately that was the ability to Piddle a perfectly decent career up the wall......

a player that was signed from Whitehaven (or was it Carlisle?)quite late in his career should have made more of the chance he was given at Warrington....

I use the term Genius loosely.

Id still prefer to watch Henare in full flight than Jonathon Davies.

Kevin Penny could not hold a candle to Richard Henare.

No, have to disagree with you there. Henare did indeed score some spectacular tries, but so did Jiffy. And with more variety too.

I'm with you on this one SEB Henare did score some spectacular tries but Jiffy did too along with creating many too.

He was totally awesome, especially when getting the ball knocked out of his under the sticks by a wingman he didn't even know was there when all he had to do was put the ball down.

And FWIW, dropping the ball under the sticks like that was just another part of him, he could be very frustrating at times.

I'd rather watch him though than that clown at saints who just runs the ball over in the corner all the time...how dull he is.

He wasn't as good at doing that as Tommy Martyn was at having the ball pinched off him behind his own try line.

I know, or at stealing the ball on someones line to go over and score to see us through to Old Trafford.
