Yeah great get another emotional, hot headed coaching rookie to replace Lowes.

Hasn't Goulding said in the past that he has absolutely no time for French Rugby League?

Quite a crazy appointment by the FFR XIII, in my opinion.

There is no difference between Lowes and Goulding IMO.

I hope the club aren't holding out for Tony Smith. He isn't the right man. He couldn't manage to merge Saints and Leeds together for the world cup so how the hell can you expect him to get our motley crewe to play as a team.

I wonder if the John Lang rumours will resurface anytime soon? He's not in coaching at the moment, he's working as a RL consultant with the Rabbitohs.

At the moment Im thinking that it doesn't matter who coaches this bunch of apes, the performances and results will always be the same.

Funny that because the majority of this squad have been successful and won trophies or representative honours when they were under other coaches.

But they come to Warrington and its second rate coaching staff and they achieve nothing!

Anyone remember Bobbie Goulding pointing fingers, raising his voice and making empty threats - on National Television - at Hull KR when he was coaching Rochdale? I find it incredible that a talented young man with a seeming desire to make it in the coaching game would continue to do such juvenille acts.
He also railed Cas and Leigh fans, amongst others, whilst coaching Rochdale.
I bring this up, because I noted to someone that Lowes reminded me so much of Goulding, in that they can't seem to raise above a bit of banter from the fans, to which they replied, "yeah well, they're from [ithat era[/i ."

Why has Tony Smiths' stock fallen so much?

Because it suits to ignore all the positives and focus on the negatives.

He was quite outspoken about Les Catalans and was quoted on Radio5 Live, with that tosspot John Inverdale, as saying something along the lines of the RFL shouldn't bother trying to expand outside of Lancashire and Yorkshire, rubbishing the (then) London Broncos and their fan base.

Although he also once said when he left Wakefield that he had "a few years left yet, whether they're in England or France".

Because he couldn't work miracles with the bunch of overpaid players that is the England squad...



No coach in the world could have done any better....most sensible rugby watchers could have predicted how England performed, only over-patriotic idiot chest beaters, like Eddie and Stevo reckoned we seriously stood a chance.

At least with our job he would be on a level playing field with the opposition, unlike his task at international level.

You all know what that means though?..... Cullen to Widnes.

It must be. Cullen is way more qualified than Goulding and also won the Emerging Nations thingy. I can't imagine Goulding was France's first choice over Cullen so Widnes must have made him a better offer.

Strange choice... too bad we've missed out on a world class coach in goulding whilst we suffer the misfortunes of James 'call me jimmy' Lowes.

Englands performance in the World Cup has dimmed whatever success he had with Leeds. The inability to get players to gel is a major cause for concern.

Whilst it was disappointing, he had the players for only a few weeks, so it is difficult to write him off after that.

Perhaps we should just look at the fact that many players went into that tournament off form, and the Aussies and Kiwis were white hot.

Had there been a normal seeded draw, we wouldn't have looked half as bad. You'd think that the likes of Ireland, Tonga and France had beaten us.

Absolutely - the French lads will be able to speak English. I'm sure Bobbie will pick it up sooner or later.
