If we win will we lift the LLS on Friday or at the first home play off game?

I would think it will still be in Wigans cupboard on Friday, they will then dust it off, a little polish, then send it DHL to Halliwell Jones for presentation the following weekend to rapturous applause and few teary eyes.
38 years is a long flipping time to watch a club without league honours, we should congratulate ourselves as supporters that we have stuck it out and we should appreciate its significance ! anyone can support a winning team, its a bigger deal to support a losing team.

George Riley has just said on Twitter that RFL will have the League Leaders Shield ready to present to Wigan on Friday night!

I don't really see that there's anything controversial involved in that. Wigan are the incumbent holders and both teams have the possibility of winning it. I don't have any problems with it personally.

They talked to both clubs about the decison before they made it... warrington said, should they win it, they would like it to be presented at home on the first play off game.

The cynic in me says Warrington will have said that in order to boost the gate, as a week one play off game V Huddersfield won't be well attended if last year is anything to go by. The prospect of seeing the LLS presented will add a couple of thousand to the gate though.

Personally I don't like the idea of receiving it then as it's a distraction from an important game. A presentation after the match will be decidedly underwhelming if we've lost to Huddersfield too.

That article also confirms that the play-off game between first and fourth is on Friday 16th September. So if we beat Hull on Friday, we play Huddersfield the following Friday.

Play off game on the Friday possibly? I have a mini-leaving do planned for work that day, may need to move it (the play off game, not my mini-leaving do).

I have watched the Wire for about 30 years., if we win on Friday then tears will be rolling down Fatbelly's cheeks.

Takes the shine off going to Hull if we win. However no one can take the monent of being there and finishing top away.

I also agree that it will take the edge off receiving the trophy especially if we lost to Huddersfield in the Playoff Game.

However i can understand the reasoning behind it, if Wigan win and we lose, they get the Shield at home. By the same token we will be presented with it at Home also.

We have a much harder game than Wigan, so it being there makes sense. We haven't won anything yet.

I completely concur, watched my first game 51 years ago, 38 years of losing deserves a tear or two.

Another 30+ year fan and just trying to sort out my tickets and transport. Hoping to go to the game with my 13 year+ (since she actually decided that she wanted to go to the rugby with dad!) daughter fan. Her last Wolves game before she heads off to university.

Saw my first game at Wilderspool in 1967 - against Whitehaven, I seem to recall. We were rubbish back then, I can tell you! Even so, a long time to wait ( since 1973) for a chance at league leaders and even the championship.

I thought you guys hadn't won the championship since the 1954-55 season. 56 years, that's one hell of a wait.

We finished top in 73 but Dewsbury won the play-offs that year. 54-55 was the last time we won the championship outright and you're correct - it is one hell of a wait!

And was it ever in doubt ...
