| Me too from another Yorkie.
Not sure what people were wanting tbh.
Nip and tuck with a fair bit of aggression and some nice try`s scored.
What more do you want from a semi final?
Impressed with Hughes, Cooper, Goodwin and Lineham but thought Ratchford had his worse game of the season from the games I`ve seen him play.

| From a Cas fan.
Congratulations Warrington!!!!
Maybe not a 100% all round performance but your defence and commitment were 120%. Best team by a mile and would have been a travesty if you had not won.
Regardless of tonight's result, I wish you luck in the final. If we cannot win it I hope you do.
BTW I too thought it a great match to watch.

| Quote ="MorePlaymakersNeeded"Respect to you JM for posting after a game that must have hurt after the season that Saints have had, and taking the defeat with dignity.
I was talking to a Wigan supporting colleague who said on Thursday morning the Barba had mentally checked out at Saints, and wouldn't be a threat. I think he may well be right in some respect, but I also think that Wire dealt with Saints attack with a dogged attitude to defending, making every tackle count.'"
re barba, its not that he'd checked out, it was the same as the last time we were there, we were very very good at closing down the space that lomax created for him outwide, jon wells got it bob on at half time at how well toby king was holding position for that barba dash around the back. Match that with how richardson and all his fellow defenders got pulled in.

| Agree that we closed saints down with our spot on defence. Whether Barba is/isn't as sharp as he was earlier on in the season matters not. He didn't create anything, and he wasn't allowed to.
As for defending, he looked like he didn't want to know. That's not taking anything away from Lineham who showed great determination and belief that he was getting that ball over the line on both occasions.

| I have been miffed on a few occasions this season with the obsession with wingers diving as high as they can to avoid the defender while putting the ball down an inch from the dead ball line. This avoids getting knees in the back which was always the risk of the traditional slide over the try line. Minkin had 2 tries chalked off in one game when he was bundled into touch following a spectacular dive. The one exception to this has been Charnley who is almost unstoppable when he slides in from 5 yards. It looks like Lineham has learned from him.

It's a good point and I thought something similar. Lineham was doing the fancy dives 18 months or two years ago with mixed effect. And why would it succeed? He is a heavily-built winger. What he has learned is that if he gets nice and low early, his physique is going to get him over the line and it is going to take a hell of a defensive effort to get under him or knock him off course.
Good to see a player learning how to use their own attributes; not just following the trend. Hicks was the best finisher I have seen in a Wire shirt because he knew exactly how to use his strengths and mitigate his weaknesses.

Literally the bounce of the ball. Saints have been found out massively now people have realised Danny Richardson isn't very good and that Barba has given up since deciding to go home.
Ryan Hampshire
Richie Myler
Josh Drinkwater
Jake Trueman
All far far better than Richardson statistically (tries/assists) he is a bang average player and basically Jamie Foster at scrum half.

I’m genuinely excited about Trueman and he isn’t even our player. He looks the absolute business and is only 19!
Seems like a really down to Earth lad when he’s been interviewed n’all.

| Not watched the whole game back yet so i am not too sure is the coverage covered it but straight after Linehams second try as Lineham headed towards the crowd to celebrate Goodwin made a point of heading back towards Richardson and others to tell them politely to stick that in their pipe and smoke it.
Quality bit a bagging to stick the knife in after their antics following the wonder goal in the league game.
It is a dish best served cold.

| Warringtons defence was absolutely outstanding.
A few unsung heroes, as I thought Goodwins unselfish performance summed up what a quality player he is. As a Leigh fan, absolutely gutted on what has happened in the past 12 months but credit where it is due, he deserves to play for a Quality SL side and he would have been too good for us whether we survived or not.
There will be a few today wishing him well when he takes the kids to School in Appleton Thorn next week thats for sure.
Fair play and good luck next week

Ha ha. Remember LMS laughing in the Wire players faces after the last game at their stadium when they won that game 14-12.

LMS is absolute cack. All he does is run around like a brain damaged Gorilla. he over celebrates everything to try and get into the oppositions head but just looks like a fill on t*t head. wooping, high fiving a knock on, @rse slapping a tackle, back slapping a pass, that thing where he squats and clenches his fists like hes constipated.... yet all he offers to the team is a lot of puffing out the cheeks on a relitivly easy carry and flopping round like a salmon on the deck trying to cheat a penalty.
One of the most annoying and over rated players in SL.

To be fair to Richardson it was the Michael McIntyre/Gareth Bale clone who ran up to our player’s faces after they beat us in the league game celebrating and screaming.
I hope he’s sick as a dog today the marble-mouthed ape.

| I've said on here many times, that Saints mean zero to me. They're there with Salford. Localish, but no proper rivalry.
Wigan, Widnes and Leigh are my rivals. Always have been, back to the days when I first started watching us, always will be. When they visited, we'd get an extra few hundred on our attendance, but the Railway End would still be well under half full, unlike the three I mentioned before. We never had glamour dates (bank holidays) against them. Like I said, Salford level
However, since the dawn of SL, they've dragged themselves from the slime at the bottom of Carr Mill pit, and lorded it over all and sundry, with their delusions of grandeur. Their dodgy GF wins over Bradford (99 & 02). Frank Cannon (McRea) and his sneering attitude of our club. Their stands full of fatter versions of Johnny, funny as a running sore, Vegas, and their chav teenage girl fans swooning over Wilkin. A statue of a salad dodger that looks more like their arch nemesis Andy Farrell, than it's intended subject, I've (as you've probably guessed by now) grown a great dislike for them. Not jealousy, no sireee. How can I be jealous of people who can't pronounce bottle or hospital.
No. Just their sheer arrogance. Coming on here, giving it the big "I am" on weeks we play them, telling us how inferior we are, and what's going to happen to us.
Regards, etc. No it's all b0110cks.
Since 10 pm, last night, I have a warm glow surrounding me, which would indicate that I've eaten 6 bowls of Ready Brek, and alternate my holidays between Sellafield, Chernobyl and Three Mile Island.
We may indeed take a beating next Saturday. C'est la vie. But I can sleep easy, knowing my team has piddled on their chips, wiping smug grins off the fizzogs of Richardson and the Cockney wide boy, and laughing at the "Village People moustaches" of Barba and Wilkin.
Choose life, Choose Wire
