If you would actually look into why we have signed Gelling, he was recommended to Wigan by both Dean Bell and Kevin Iro and Wigan had been watching him for quite a while. Signing a 31 year old Aussie stinks of desperation, and proves to me that Tony Smith is not looking to the future, but has ben told by your board to win Super League NOW as your ageing squad is, well......getting older.

So a 23 year old Hill and 23 year old Ratchford as well as signing a 19 year old scrum half at the time says what?

Oh and the average age of the Warrington squad* is currently 26 Wigans being 25, Hmmm massive difference

Isn't it true that Wire have the most players over the age of 30 in superleague? Over twice the number that Wigan have. In fact only Leeds come close with eight.

And add to that they have one of the least number of home grown players.

You struggle to produce young talented player's so you have to buy in other teams?

It's a nice point for a p*ssing contest ours is better than yours for Wigan fans but in real terms it means bugger all.

People say we have an old squad and we buy players in. So in theory when the oldies retire we may still buy old very good players, there's no panic here, money talks in the world of capitalism and we have a man rolling in it.

Producing the likes of Sam Tomkins has allowed us to offer him a large wage and keep him at the club under the new salary cap amendments if we applied Warrington's mindset and bought him in we wouldn't be able to put together such a deal.

so its another off quota foreigner in the wigan ranks, depriving english talent of an opportunity... This cant be good for the future of our national game, having clubs like wigan filling their squad with sub standard foreign players..... its no wonder we cant beat the aussies..... how many players did wigan have in the 4 nations first 17.....
