I wouldn’t mind Ratchford signed as a utility player at all, I just don’t want him as first choice full back. He’d be very good cover for lots of positions.

So we have to find a better alternative to our salary cap that allows clubs to spend more but stay in business ...

1) The salary cap has not prevented teams from getting into financial difficulties.

2) The salary cap has not made SL more competitive as the same 3 teams have won it for 16 years.

3) The salary cap has caused the reduction in quality NRL players in our league and the loss of top British players to the NRL.

4) The salary cap has decreased in real terms.

Christ then we will need a Minimum of 3 Props if Cooper is released. To be fair it's odd we haven't re-signed him already so may be true. Daft if we do let him go though

He is our most effective prop, but 34 in September, where did that time go, I'd have thought he's a year younger and was being offered two.

However, if it's true that he's going then I'd be disappointed, but expect us to have some quality lined up, rather than our recent make do and mend/project signings.

Saints fans on redvee are saying they wouldn't mind signing Cooper for a year or two.

I hope this is nonsense, copper is worth another year MINIMUM. He’s quite simply still our best prop, by some distance, rarely injured and nearly always plays big minutes VERY well. Having said that, given our recruitment the last 5/6 years it probably is true ffs….
