| Quote ="easyWire"And we don't know what sort of salary Hill is asking for if it's a two-year deal. It's bit like Coote at Saints. The replacement they have lined up (Welsby) isn't at the level of Coote yet, but if they give in to Coote's demands and hand him a 3-year deal taking up a significant amount of cap space it's a bit of a risk.
Of course this doesn't change the fact that he won't be easy to replace, as he's a machine at the moment.'"
Given his time at the club, isn’t less of Hill’s wage not counting towards the cap year on year anyway?

No, they scrapped that a while a go I think, there is no longer a long service dispensation, they replaced it with a young player dispensation I think, which acts as a reward for any SL / NRL players that have come through your academy. You are allowed a dispensation of £5k per player (to a maximum of £100k) for each one of your club trained players that played SL or NRL in the previous season (including players who played for other clubs such as Dwyer for example).

| I've only just cotttoned on to the St George players party fiasco. One prop who i would have liked for us to have signed was Paul Vaughan from St George. Just been stung with a $50k fine....

| We are light in the forwards anyway but Hill is one of the best props in the league so it seems stupid to move him on to another club when an equal replacement would be nigh on impossible to find.

I didnt catch the much of the saints game last night however i saw Pasi's first drive of the second half. Summat wrong with your tele, fella. Give it a 1970's style bang on the side.
Stains players are incapable of such transgressions

| I’ve no info on Hill to forward about if he leaves, it looks very closed. I think if Hill moves on, it’s his call, I cannot imagine Wire didn’t offer Hill a season deal. Could be Hill just wants 2 years in stone.

| If a suitable replacement is available and willing to sign this season then we should move on that IMO or may end up compromising next year as there aren't many payers that could fill those boots. I'd rather he stayed another season to be honest but if we need to balance the books then that's unfortunate. Realistically we need to look to life beyond Chris Hill sooner or later anyway, all depends on signing the right replacement.

| Quote ="ComeOnYouWolves"Sorry its Grant Millington not Shillington at Castleford....possibly so, the clubs learnt from its mistake however props do tend to last longer than other players as they dont have the pace to lose to start with and are spelled.
I mean you could have a youngster like one of the Wigan forwards where i read he made 6 carries for 14 metres! Yes hes not helped by the rest of the Wigan pack being young even still 14 metres is pretty poor.'"
It's quite interesting we look to stats like meters gained....
The best performing forward in state of origin made 118m all game. On the VB hard work index in one of the games the highest rated player that game made 108m in 12 carries....not exactly what you would call great when you look at the numbers, I think our expectations are no longer in line with the modern game. Where defence possession and Territory are king. We all want to see exciting expansive rugby but most do not seem to get that you have to earn that right by doing the basics right first and getting on top of the opposition.first.
The NRL fans and NFL fans value what we call small gains !!! Maybe they are onto something ??

| Apparently ,he is a bit of a clown in the disciplinary department so he sounds as if he would be a good rehabilitation project for the Wire.

He just keeps getting caught breaking COVID-19 rules. Get him over here after the 19th of July and he'll be as good as gold

| Vaughan is a decent front rower, but can’t follow simple instruction. He hasn’t been sacked for one event, this is after a series of disciplinary issues, and don’t kid yourself that he’s good enough to roll the dice on.

| We don’t need him, needless to say, I’d take him.
However...You would think we don’t need the ball playing forward now we have the Wigan template added to our squad last week. Four forward drives, and quick shifting the ball to the left with a loose forward and the fullback pivot on the link to create the overlap.
Boring and as predictable as always. However that was the Madge and Wane way.

Why would we play like Wigan just because we have signed Williams? Aren’t we more likely to play ‘the Cas way’ thank ‘the Wigan way’?
Besides a shift to the left with a full back out the back as pivot is hardly solely a Wigan play….?
