Cas did the same to us in the league game a couple of weeks ago with quite a few bodies missing. The only difference was we managed to pull the game out of the fire in the second half.

Hughes was the worst player on the field,............and that took some doing today! Hopefully Powell realises(as Wigan and Huddersfield did)that he's a plodder(and that's being generous!)

If Powell used today as a benchmark, not many would get into the 2021/22 squad but I hope he'll be moving a few on. Hughes, Charnley, Austin, Davis, and Akuola should all be surplus to requirements.

However, I wouldn't blame him if he was having second thoughts at working with that bunch of.pretenders.

Since Tony Smith arrived in 2009 he was relatively successful as he won 3 Challenge cup finals, 2 League leaders shields but lost 2 Grand Finals with probably the best squad that Wolves have had in SL

You lost out to the Rhinos in the 2012 Grand Final when they limped into the final play off position of 5th but beat you in the Grand Final.
In the 2013 Grand Final Wolves were 14 points up against Wigan but still managed to lose by 14 points

Now that can be called being bottlers, there's something that has been clearly wrong within the culture at the club for quite some time

The fact that Hughes is our captain sums us up under price, an average player who even struggles to do the basics right. Charnley needs to go and if we lost Clark but got mcshane I'd be happy, walker was more lively when on. Philbin needs a rocket as well and Davis isn't good enough.

We have no divine right to win trophies, its the manner of our failures that hurt. Under price its simply awful the team seemed to give up at 14 down and that's simply n t gold enough. Time and time again if you get 8 points ahead of this regimes wire side we just fold.

Davis is a really good player but he isn't big enough, if he wants a serious career he should change to interchange hooker IMO.

I like hill, but the lad is a serial loser and unfortunately it’s seeped right through the squad.

They thoroughly deserved the win.
Powell through shapes at us that I'd never seen before and we couldn't handle it - we didn't know how to handle it.
His team executed the plan well with minimal handling mistakes.
They beat us in the middle (unusual for us) and on the edges (right edge in particular).

Many posts are critical of individual players, but that (in many cases) is wrong and misses the point.

We were 2nd best all over the park and after we went 18-0 down there was no way I couldn't see us getting back - even if we did score because we couldn't defend our line.

Price may have won us trophies but for most of his tenure we've watched really poor footy. (Maybe we were spoilt by the TS tenure).
The occasional flashes of great play - like Hull and Saints in the cup - were undermined by a total lack of ideas in attack from an expensively assembled team underperforming at an individual and collective level.

And this is where we are now after the Cas match..... again.

Price hasn't been and isn't the coach to turn it round.

He's played in 8 finals and lost 6 of them.

his final record as captain speaks volumes. He’s a brilliant player but he should never have been made captain. Once he was his playing ability regressed as he felt the need to be in the refs ear constantly, he has been far better this season coincidently.

Er...Hughes should never have been made captain. Always a good indication of a coach who he names as captain, Cooper is CLEARLY our captain and only a poor coach would choose otherwise.

I'm a Leeds fan but was supporting Cas today as I live that way. I didbt think they'd win, and although they played well, they have another gear.
To be honest since of your players look unfit.

The club have said that Powell has complete control over player selection next year, which is something. Surely he’s already thinking about whom he wants to keep and who’s being shown the door.

Let’s be honest, our club culture has been one of accepted mediocrity for a long time. I don’t think this year’s campaign is a lost cause yet but I don’t think Price is the one to win it for us. Why not role the dice - chuck Price and let Henderson have a go for the remainder and start sending the players the message that underperformance won’t be tolerated any more. You’re playing for your future and if you don’t like those terms you can spend the rest of your contract signing casts and doing photo ops at Cockhedge.

A pipe dream, I know.
