No issue. Bring back Harvey, plenty more strings to his bow.

| It's difficult to criticise Davis because he works his socks off on the pitch, but unfortunately he is just too small. If he gets a better deal from another club then so be it, after all we do have youngsters that need to be tested ( Ellis Robson, Eribe Doro) and as Ducky says Livett may finally break through, although after 40-50 games for us he is leaving it a bit late. We also have Luis Johnson, Latu, Luther Burrell and Samy Kibula floating around, although none of those inspire me with a great deal of confidence atm. We have too many 'projects' and not enough squad players with 'exciting potential'.

| Hope we don't allow an agent to get a massive deal for their player again. He's a useful player but I wouldn't pay over the odds to keep him.
From the Academy for the back row we've also got Connor Wrench, Jacob Gannon, Ellis Longstaff and Kieran Rennox who have all played for England.
With us needing to play midweek games you'd expect that some youngsters will break through at all clubs.

Totally agree with Robson and Doro needed to be tested . Robson is a bigger, quicker ready made replacement for Davis . Doro is that aggressive type prop like Matty lees from saints who can come on in a game and really put himself about. Both have been at the club since being 15 which I think is also a bonus for the academy/player pathway

| ref Currie, i had an email from a friend, who said
Warrington have offered Currie a new contract on reduced wages, which he isnt happy with. There has been contact with Wigan and Saints. Saints have already offered a contract with more on the table than Warrington. With Warrington refusing to increase the original offer, it looks like a departure is on the cards. The player favours a move to Wigan, but its unknown if they will match the offer that saints have made.
Warrington have all but sealed deals for 2 other SL backrowers, 1 of them is done, the 2nd one cant be finalised until the Currie situation is sorted out.

Is our cunning plan to eventually play 13 backrowers for crying out loud.
Here's an idea ..... why don't we sign a flipping prop ???!?!?!?

Ha ha ha it's unreal how hard it is for us to sign a prop, well a good one anyway.
I assume with the rumours it's McMeeken and another unknown. Josh Jones said he didn't know where the rumours have come from and is committed to Hull. So i don't think it's him.
Prop wise we're running with Hill, Cooper, Philbin which i'm happy with. Akauola who i love but is simply a low minutes impact prop, Leilani Latu who does seem to be a panic buy as we were knocked back by 3 props and he appeared to be the last resort, and Sammy Kibula...........oh dear.
Excuse me if i've forgotten anyone.
I messaged an NRL journalist via instagram about Latu and if he was worth a punt or a dud. He simply replied "he's a very very poor player and has done nothing in the past 3 years" so unless he magically turns his whole game around he's a crap signing, who can't get fit.....even though literally his whole career is fitness based.
Other than Josh Jones ( who could still happen you never know) Who would you guys want?

Agreed, Hill Cooper & Philbin i'm happy with, ideally you need 4 props in a matchday squad, I have serious reservations over Latu, especially given the comments on him by Price. I hope he has used this period of not playing to work on his personal fitness, otherwise I'm not sure he will ever play for us. Sita I'm ok with as a 5th prop to cover injury / suspension, although really I would rather a home grown player was used - we seem a bit light on props coming through though? End of 2021 we will have Sita and Hill off contract, Hill will be 34 by that point so tough decisions may need to be made, but our 'prop situation' looks like it will be an on going issue.
On Currie, I hope he stays, he seemed to be finding form before season suspension but I think Price prefers the crash ball type second rower, so McMeeken / Jones may fit that role better, it would be a big loss for us however I feel and one that I think would come back to haunt us. Toby King could well step up to be a very good back rower, so he too could be an option.
Bit disappointed if he does leave, due to the support he has been given, but he more than most knows that rugby league wont be around forever for him so he needs to get the most out of it financially while he can.

| With McMeeken, unless he's dead set on second row, and IF we have signed him, he could transition to prop VERY easily in my oppinion. he's 6'5 and 16st already and 26 years old so he can still fill out. Might be a long shot but he has the size and strength for it? I would like an out and out prop though not another second rower/prop. Maybe inglis could sway a few heads our way for the prop position

Shirley Matty Lees is no prop. He’s only stepped up from 3/4 to backrow as he received that terrible injury.

Imagine being a Saints fan reading this
Warrington, who know most about his long-term fitness outlook, are only willing to keep him on a reduced contract and unwilling to negotiate. He would rather go to Wigan, but is using Saints as a way to leverage a higher contract from them. If he doesn't get what he wants from Wire or Wigan, Saints are his fallback.
Saints are that 6/10 that you keep on the go on tinder in case the other two you're dating find out about each other.

| Warrington on reduced wages can still out strip the larger offers of others. Wire have a far greater chance of reaching finals and the player gets fat bonuses from that, topping up his contract.

I'm sorry RD but, even by your own standards, that is complete and utter b****cks.
Last year we put one over on Saints by beating them at Wembley but Saints got to both major finals, winning the Grand Final, and claiming the League Leaders Shield along the way.
What we can say is that Warrington are now one of the big clubs. We have ambition, we have appeared in both the Challenge Cup and Grand Finals in recent years and we have training facilities which are up there with the very best. From all accounts our player welfare side of the club is also excellent.
Currie is no different to any other employee in an organisation. He may choose to move to another employer for various reasons such as better pay, better promotion prospects (in the case of a RL player substitute that for silverwear), better working conditions etc. He may also want to leave for 'negative' reasons i.e. he doesn't like his boss or the way things are run. Sometimes people just need a change.
If he hasn't fallen out of love with us then we should be a good position to retain him - if we choose to. He's 26 next month, if he hadn't had his injury problems then this contract would have been the biggest of his career. From all accounts we offered him less money, maybe somebody else is willing to take more of a chance.

| James Graham has asked for an immediate release to join a Super League side. Eek. If it's Saints it's got the Rooney to Everton vibe about it. Still a legend but way past his best. If it's not Saints, it's a big shocker. The fiery redhead in a Wire shirt till the end of the season perhaps?

Definitely Saints, makes zero sense for Wire to sign Graham when they have Hill and Cooper who are both in their thirties. Interesting signing for Saints, past his best clearly but I wonder if he’ll have enough in the tank to go well for them. Can count on one hand the number of good props in SL at the moment so he’ll probably still churn out 100+ metres a game.
