| IMO Warrington will beat Cas and then Salford. It'll then be a semi against (again IMO) Wigan. You'll go into it on the back of 2 wins, Wigan off the back of a saints defeat, so every chance of winning, and then the final against saints, look at the CC final. So in actual effect, this route works better for you than finishing 3rd because you'll get to build more momentum, plus you wouldn't beat saints twice in a few weeks so best wait until the gf.

The final was fun....... The majority of the season has been painful.
Playing some of the most boring rugby I've seen since we moved to the Halliwell Jones, shocking penalties, daft mistakes and a game plan that hopes either Clarke or Austin can throw a dummy and go......... Otherwise just kick it high and hope King can catch it.

I agree except I think Wigan will beat saints in the first semi final. I'd hate to face Wigan in the final again, officials turn a blind eye to grubbery and they're full of it at the minute. We will get grubbed out of it again if we get there (which won't happen) it's Wigan year again.

I think I'd prefer Wigan.

| Wembley has gone.Great while it lasted esp over Saints but if Wire are only going turn up for the big games it’s not much an incentive for season ticket sales. To simply shut up shop after Wembley is taking the p$ss out of the supporters when it’s costing £50 per match, prob more away with pre match drinks and other expenses. No point in showing passion once every 10 games. As some on here have already said without them early season wins we’d have been right in the mire. Not good enough.

Put yourself in Karl Fitzpatrick position at the start of the season...(scenario)
'Hi Steve...please take a seat.
I going to give it to you straight...I've got 2 bosses here and they are both telling me to win the Grand Final first and formost, but they also want us to win the Challenge Cup. They've pumped £m's into our club....You've everthing at your disposal...that includes league games...I don't care how we look to do it....just do it....oh close the door your way out will you?'

The terraces will be pretty empty if us fans target the same 3 or 4 games where the effort is put in.
I find it hard to believe that a team that saw the writing on the wall when Salford were still a poor team yet beat us at Easter , & haven't found an improvement to speak of in the last 5 months, except the CC.

| Duckie I doubted you regarding your confidence on us winning Wembley but if your GF prediction is correct you should be named Saint Duckie. We’ll be playing top of the table teams not an out of form Wigan,a lowly Hull KR team and a enigmatic Hull side on our route to Wembley.

'What's that Mr F?'
'My bosses are very cocksure...they want you to do it from 4th just for comedy value as we know no club outside to top 2 in a 5 playoff system has ever won it.'

That isn't a finale...
Isn't losing to play an easier run in...actually winning when you win the cup. Collateral damage for the greater cause of not losing a game this season...that really matters.

Spot on, Warrington have to be ruthless and not allow the cup win to paper over the huge cracks which have been there for a while now. The reality is that, with the exception of 2 games, you’ve been awful for a good few months now which is more than a bad run and it’s difficult to see how that isn’t going to carry on into next season. It’s those 2 games which have saved Price his job and whilst they did end with a trophy, had you lost one he’d now be one defeat from the sack.
I imagine the cup win must have been incredible for you all but the only downside to it is you’re likely going to have another season of dross to put up with. I hope you do get rid of Price because Warrington are normally one of the few SL teams I enjoy watching but under Price that has most definitely not been the case. For me, you should go for Ian Watson. He deserves the chance, he’d have you playing entertaining rugby and he could oversee a sustained period of success if given the chance.

Price has got Wire to three out of three finals during his tenure thus far. Having won one this year, that's an improvement on 2018. These are the stark facts that get him another year before I judge him to be the right man for the job, or not. Yes, we've been awful in the league since June - that I don't disagree with you, but for me, now is not the time to replace him.
I would be very disappointed if Moran, Middleton and the rest of the hierarchy have not already had words with Steve, and the squad, with regard to playing the rugby were capable of, going forward.

Poor discipline, poor kicking game resulting from poor completion rates, missed tackles, total lack of plan B and being completely predictable spoil grand final aspirations more.
The game plan we had for the cup final would probably see us win at Old Trafford, the basics executed well is usually the way the grand finals are won. The referees allow a much slower ptb and almost any infringement on the edge of or just outside of the rules goes largely unpunished. However, I'd be amazed if that got us to old Trafford in the first place.
