The idea of flags and banners in and round the ground.Is a great idea,it will and to the match day atmosphere.But to give yourselves a name, in which most people.Would associate whith some sort of hooligan element,is laughable.

listen 21-12 no one is having a go because you're a super fan, in fact most people us included would commend you on it. The trouble is that you have been a little naive in the naming and can't see it.

To be honest I can't understand why anyone is genuinely crying about the name Ultras but each to their own. There are many different Ultra groups around Europe and they're not all Mussolini worshipping Lazio fans.

However, "Irregulars" are a group of lads who have followed Liverpool home and away for years. As one of the Wigan lads above claims he also does this I would wager he knew that so it's no coincidence on the name.

Obviously one or two WRL Ultras are also Celtic. Fair enough, but they're not a very original bunch are they?

The official supporters group are called the riversiders so cannot use it.

We are rugby fans not football fans so the ultras shouldnt be associated the same.

As for copying, everybody does it. Green Brigade itself is hardly an original name seeing as there are lots of Brigades all over Europe which add the colour of their team and the skull with bar scarf motif was used by other groups long before Celtic (our skull artwork differs to GB's).
Anyway I can name 5 diiferences between our banner & GB's (granted one is the colour!)

It's a matter of opinion. I'd wager the WRL Ultras aren't planning on causing mayhem at the HJ next season so I wouldn't worry about them. They're looking for a different way of supporting their team that some of their fellow Wigan supporters will like and join in with and others will distance themselves from. They aren't doing any harm though.

I'm an enthusiast in culture of clubs and politics etc contained within Ultra groups (real ones, not Wigan), as well as traditional terrace culture in this country - casuals, old songs, banners, and the like.

I regard Warrington RLFC as my second favourite sports club (after Liverpool FC) but I don't really feel any attachment to a culture within. From that perspective I feel a far greater association with Celtic than with Warrington, but on the pitch Warrington's results matter to me more than Celtic's do.

Liverpool completely dwarf both in my affections and importance in my life on and off the pitch.

You may not understand this and that's fair enough, each to their own and I'm not trying to justify my position or get into a debate with people I'm never going to meet away from the internet. I'm just stating how I feel.

For some people there is more to supporting a club than going to their games and hoping they win. For others that is it and nothing else matters. Both perfectly valid and up to the individual. There is a far greater terrace culture within football than rugby league though, and I would hazard a guess based on the Liverpool and Celtic rip offs displayed that a lot of the Wigan lads also attend football matches.

Whether this is relevant to RL or not is debateable, but as they appear to be passionate lads supporting their team their way I don't see any reason to slate them.

I thinking what they are trying to do is a great idea,its just the naming of the group.Is my gripe,why name yourselves after a something which has a element of hooliganism.Not unless the ultras will be out looking for trouble and trying to relive the 80s..
