My post was more to do with how well Bradford had done, as it was part of the original thread, it was someone else who mentioned the Wire crowd today and when I looked it was down on last years. I never mentioned the other two games.

I suppose the thought of Stacey Soloman may have out some off though.

And good luck to them, they will have worked a cost based model (the £60 season ticket only kicked in if they sold 10,000 season tickers) to make sure it's advantageous.

I'm sure they will have, it's great to see their attendances rising. It's also great to see us getting 11,500 against a side who bring not very many I'm sure you'll agree.

Bradford's Marketing team deserve a huge pat on the back, lets hope they got beack to the Peter Deakin times of the '90s when they led the way - they grasped the SL matchday product first for me.

Don't know where you got your (selective) population stats from, but you seem to have picked the TOWN of Wrexham 42,576 against the Borough of Warrington, (including its 18 civil parishes) with a population of 193,000.

Alternatively you could have used Wrexham County borough with 130,000 against Warrington Town's population of 80,661.
This would make the 10K attendance approx 12.5% for Warrington which should give a wrexham attendance of 16,250.

Both sets of stats are a fallacy, although your point about being handicapped by having no rugby league history is very valid.
I can't say too much more after saint's 6K attendance last week (hangs head in shame).

I happy to stand by my quoted figures noting that IMHO Warrington's catchment should be greater based on years of 'community' outreach outside their immediate vicinity, whereas Crusaders 'community' outreach (I would expect in the early years) to be on a far more local level.

I was in Wrecsam yesterday, spend a lot of time around the area, as wife's family are all there. I think they do have the catchment area to build up a fan base. Irrespective of how many people live in the immediate area, there does seem to be a lack of top class competitive sport in the North Wales area.

I think the team lacks an identity, they are a proud bunch in and around Wrecsam, and if the team were able to tap into that I'm sure the region would get behind them. I understand that under the franchise system they can't change their name, but if the were to do so and call themselves the North Wales Dragons (or something else), this would go a long way to addressing the fact that they do not have a history.

They love their rugby, and if we want he game to expand, every effort should be put into making it a success.
