Agreed - impresses me every time I see him play. I would take him over Mitchell or Tyke any time although Mitchell is looking more impressive this season. Also really like the look of Charnley from what I've seen so far. Wigan do consistently produce some good young players.
When I look at the respective first teams, although I know I'm biased, I think the Wigan players I would put in our side without hesitation are Sam Tomkins, Pat Richards and Sean O'Loughlin. I would also take Farrell as mentioned above. Apart from that I think I would choose all our players but as I said, I'm biased!

I agree r.e Charnley, his finishing last week and during his spell with the Robins is nothing short of outstanding. Definitely one for the future.

| Quote ="wiganrl"Yet another Wigan hating thread on the Wire forum no surprise there then, There are NO "average" players in the Wigan squad I think being Super League Champions proves that we have the best squad in Super League we also have the best youth system in England, Wire also have virtually no "average" players hence back to back Cups to suggest a player who has Super League, 4 Nations & a World Cup winners medals to his name aswell as Grand Final Man of the Match is frankly laughable or Comedy Genius as you lot put it, Hansen average do ME a favour, Carmont wasn't very "average" in the World Club Challenge, Goulding Super League's 2nd top try scorer last year is VERY "average" notice no Wire "fan" calling Hicks or Riley "average", Ben Harrison has great potential but to say he is better than Hansen is VERY blinkered and people say we are the arrogant ones despite the fact our past History and last year seem to give us the right to be arrogant as we have damn well earned it after what we went through in 06.'" aw diddums, did you have a poor time of it in 2006? shame, grow up ffs! you've earnt nowt this year yet, so lets just see shall we, arrogance, by eck, the new fragrance from wigan!

I think Lee Mossop is another one with a huge future, had last season interrupted with a couple of shoulder injuries, but he's had some big performances this year, especially when you consider he's been moved up to prop full time.

Ben Harrison twice as many missed tackles
Three times as many penalties conceded
Three times as many errors.
Give me Harrison Hansen any time (don't forget how this started by this)
Quote ="Galloping Ghost"I'd say Goulding, Carmont, Leuluai, Hansen, Coley and McIlorum are all average. Wigan are succesful by having a great coach and a great set-up throughout the club. Three outstanding world class talents in Richards, O'Loughlin and Tomkins. Saints carried players like Arnold, Jonkers, Edmondsen, West etc for many years. The same is happening at Wigan. I think your core three are better than most others.'"

Thanks for that insightful analysis of the relative abilities of the two players.
I've jus done a Karl Pyrce v Harrison Hanson thing on that site.
Hanson has missed 5 times as many tackles.
Price has made 11 times more tackle bursts.
So Price is at least five times better than Hanson, and you could argue, if you were an , that he is 11 times better.

| Why do all these topics RE Wire and Wigan always end up in dick measuring contests? Little squabbles such as "Hansen is better... no Harrison is better" blah blah blah. Fair enough, i appreciate that this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their own opinion etc but it is getting kind of boring now.
Tomorrow we will see the best 2 teams in the country with a near sell out crowd appreciating 2 quality rugby league teams. I for one will be appreciating both teams on show with some of the best players in the competition on show.

Although Rogues claiming Hanson is better than Harrison was quite a gem.
