I would have Lineham in the team. I wouldn’t have Charley in the centres, as far as I know he only ever played there as a stop gap. In fact I really worry about Charnley who seems to be blunted as an attacking winger at present.

We are lacking options a little at the moment. In all honesty as much as I don't like a negative back row we have far more options in back row than centre so better to stick with what we have in the centres. Charnley must be shattered from taking carries at the minute.

I think Lineham comes back in. The weak link for me at the moment is Charnley, he just doesn’t look like a threat with the ball. A break might do him good.

Charnley at centre. Give over. People already complain we struggle to attack in the opposition 20. Charnley throws the worst dummy I've ever seen and nobody would buy it. Lineham and Charnley on the wing. King and Gelling centres. Work it out in other positions.

Given our injuries and suspensions combined with his work rate I would think charnley would be one of the first names on the team sheet after daz clark, ratchford, King and cooper, it's not charnleys fault that he is being used as a small prop! Our problems dont lie in the back 5.

I do think he will need a break before the end of the season though, he's played every match and has been worked really hard in all of them.

What would your thoughts have been on mamo at centre at the start of the season? I. Personally thought he would have been useless there, I was wrong. I could be wrong about the possibility of charnley at centre as well and let's face it we aren't likely to see it are we. He's doing alright at prop for the time being anyway.

I think this 'charge' has been levelled at virtually every Warrington coach since the 70's.

Coaches always have their favourites and as long as it's based on performance I've no problem with that. And therein lies the problem.
There are a wide range of views on what constitutes performance.
Jason Clark is currently in the firing line - I'm not saying whether that's justified or not, just that that's what many of the peeps on here say.

I think we use Charnley and Lineham far more as an aid to our forwards than we used in the past - partly because of the way the game is played now, partly because of out lack of effective props and they are working to the coaches tactics.
And this is why we won't get the out and out try scoring Charnley that existed at Wigan.

Perhaps it would shake our attack up a bit if we wrong footed defences occasionally by throwing the ball about from tackle one instead of our forwards running into traffic for 3 or 4 plays.

I think it’s time we picked one out of Hughes, Jason clark, and Davies, 3 of the same type of players in a team will never work, my preference would be Davies as he runs harder.

Hughes is a good player, he doesn't make many mistakes and his defence is fantastic. Every team needs a workhorse and hughes is a good one, I just wish he would release the ball a bit more. I don't think matt Davies is the same as the other 2, he is more dynamic, he's improving and he also covers 9 at a push. Totally agree with Hughes and Clark though, pick one and have the other on the bench. They're both good players I just don't think the combination works very well.

I think Mamo would be great at centre. But I'm not moving King. Maybe put Gelling in the second row. He runs harder than King and has scattered a couple players for half breaks doing that. I think Charnley and Lineham are fine as is. Doing what they do. They can still score tries if we get the numbers. Which we aren't doing unfortunately.

I think Charnley strike rate on the right edge has suffered in recent times as we sometimes have 2 players who prefer to run the ball rather than passing it - Austin and BMM.
Compare Austin to Briers who was sometimes criticised for not taking the line on enough. Perhaps a bit frustrating for Briers to understand how a player cannot execute some plays like he did but like comparing apples and oranges.

Another thing that I have noticed is that Ratchford looks like he prefers to pop op on the left edge.
So maybe we have a combination of predominant runners and if the pass is made then those players may not as confident at passing to their right.
When charnley does get the ball the passes are not always on the button. He often has to stop or reach into the air to collect that allows the defender to adjust.
I am not too sure his work in yardage is hampering his try scoring.

Yes and when a new coach comes in he has different takes on players and the fans get all excited as he's suddenly willing to drop players.

I agree with everything apart from re J Clark. I think he gets dominated in the tackle and we lose yards and momentum as a result.

Agreed. Clark is simply not good enough. He makes very little metres and tackles. I'd rather Doro play there.

Everybody bangs on about Clark does all the unseen stuff and hard yards etc........no he doesn't.....why does everyone think that? Because they've read somewhere that's wht he was like at the Rabbitohs?
His go forward is simply run forward get tackled and make no metres....ever and that's about all he brings to the table.
Davis is Faster, more aggressive, fitter and more energetic, so for me leave Clark out Davis has his spot permanently and give Doro or Robson his place, Robson has done much more than him in the 3-4 games i've seen him play than all the time Clark has played for us i don't care what other people say.
He'll be here next year even if it's just to settle inglis in, but for me he's a "Utility" player we really don't need at all.

Music to my ears. Clark is bang average but comes in deluxe NRL packaging so he must be good, [isurely[/i?. We don't need him as long as Hughes is around and he's depriving someone with a bit more about them of a place. He has a silly haircut too.

Yeah for me next year, Hughes to 13, Gelling to second row in his place and Inglis to which ever centre side he wants and King to the other centre spot and Jobs done.
Butler (if signed) Takes Clarks place on the bench and Doro and Kibula to get more game time and experience.
If Latu is here next year i'd be very very surprised and Akauola might not be here either.
So we might have another Prop insight aswell? If not propwise we'll be running with.

I might be missing someoneone but if not, after so many years we STILL need to bring in an experienced Prop to balance the forward pack. Kibula and Doro i don't think have to experience to carry us forward if any injuries occur, and i'm a fan of Butler but again he's still young only has 1 year in super league.
I'm hoping with Inglis coming over it may open a few doors for props that we might not have had a chance with before??

From what I have seen kibula needs to add a LT more aggression to his game and doro needs to add bulk. Neither are ready to have regular bench spots at the minute. I appreciate things can change but for now if that's what we have we need to be adding another prop who is ready to go, Scott Taylor from Hull would be a brilliant addition.

Doro does perhaps need a bit more beef, but I think he makes up for it with speed, footwork and good hands.

Kibula I agree, and that was Wigan fans beef with him. He has the size and athleticism but at times he virtually walks into.impact.

I’m sure Jason Clarke is far more expensive than Matt Davis for arguably no real difference.

Doro looks athletic and quick and potential to be a Philbin type player

Kibula is big. That’s it and nothing more.
