| Quote ="ratticusfinch"Oh dear lord it's unbelievably good. I've said it for years now Mike Cooper is a MUCH better prop than luke Thompson. If you want to be world class then step up when you're mate is out. Walmsley is miles better and a huge loss for them tonight. The internationals burst Mr Thompsons bubble as did tonight. Hull will muller em.'"
Understand you lot are giddy after a rare win over us, but do you really believe that? Do you mean the Luke Thompson who carried Saints for months after Walmsley broke his neck ? Going into a game with only 2 props is always going to be a challenge. Throw
This is one of those days you will happily remember for years as a day you truly dismantled us with incredible flowing rugby, amazing tackles and utter domination. In reality it was far from that. It was a very close and scrappy affair with mistakes everywhere, we just weren't able to capitalise on any of yours. You scored a dive over from a yard out and your second was just a joke with the most blatant knock on and offside ever in the play before it. You handled the situation better (It could even prove over the next few weeks that you are better without Hill) but tonight is very similar to last week. You would probably win last weeks game with 13 on the field, we'd have probably won tonight if we had a few less injured.
Price got a lot of stick from you last season, but he seems to have perfected the gameplan against us and fixed whatever held you back last season. Looking forward to seeing you play Hull, think that could be a great game. Whilst not many were looking forward to this season it seems like it could be a lot more interesting than last season. Saints will still be strong when we get Walmsley, Roby, Amor, Knowles, Coote and Makinson back. Hopefully one or two will return against Hull. Hull look strong and you look to be back in contention now, even Wigan look like they'll be competitive this season, but they don't seem capable of winning anything to me with that pack.

| I would like to say an eloquent comment to that Saddened post but all I can say is you are no better than the bitter bin dipping ‘red vee’ tools who pollute our town. The amount of Sintellins glory hunting idiots who got off the train at the Warrington West Station tonight was pathetic.
Aren’t you supposed to get off at Shaw Street?

Roby back? He is finished(and a true legend before anyone starts). You know this and you've still got 2 more years of marquee wages to pay him

I doubt that. He's already said he'll see how this season goes before deciding whether to play again. A 'finished' Roby did perfectly fine last season, easily still in the top 2 or 3 hookers in Super League, still capable of 40+ tackles and playing the full 80. If he plays tonight we'd have scored one or two and made the game closer. We had about six repeat sets on your line, he'd have got us over during that.
Lots of people ridiculing Saints after one defeat. Odd given tonight was the first proper Super League game we've lost since 2018 and we had half the team missing. I'll take that record.

| Good win tonight & it looks like the best way to deal with Saints is to take the game to them & not let them get in their stride ,just like at Wembley. And , speaking of Wembley , Eamonn looked fed up tonight too.

| Amor missing??? Brilliant!! Only Saints fans could be so whiny after a match in which they were COMPLETELY outplayed. An utterly horrible set of fans. Suck it up, be gracious and move on. Positives - you lost a run of the mill league game to us which means you may, finally, beat us in a big match.

Behold. The most unintentionally funny paragraph in RL Fans history.
Your opening sentence has bitterness, oozing through it.
It was very close?... REALLY?.
A knock on....No
You'd have probably won if you had a few back...what, like Wembley, when your missing players DID play..
Matron. He's out of bed, again.

Highlight of the night for me was seeing one of the '65' balloons that you lot brought, popped and discarded out on winwick street after the game.
I bet someone had a good chuckle yesterday afternoon doing that.

| The narrative about how the Legendary Saints strength in depth would see them go unbeaten has certainly gone into reverse gear.
Tough night for Elvis and Elton at the back, and the fearsome blonde bombshells up front took a proper tonking.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Arguably two of the top three sides played and one side won. That doesn't mean the other team is incapable of beating the other. Maybe this is finally the year you win Super League, but it's easy to see where the song comes from. One win against us and suddenly all our players are cowards or terrible and judging by the responses we'll be lucky to avoid relegation this year. We'll see how it pans out.

I’m afraid you lost all credibility when you said it was very close.
It was the complete opposite... very one sided... there wasn’t one saints player that played better than his opposition number.... beat all ends up, right across the pitch all night.
And we still managed to do that without both our captains and our marquee signing.

How many breaks were there in the game? I can think of Ashton's one where he panicked and thought he was playing rugby union but that's about it. Saints were truly woeful with the ball, but still managed what five or six repeat sets on your line and more than enough ball in your 20 to have scored enough points to win a game, we just didn't do anything with it. Those aren't hallmarks of a one sided game. Warrington were always in control of the game and thoroughly deserved to win but it wasn't a hammering.

| I would expect to see a team celebrating “nilling” the opposition, and that’s what they did.No one believes this means we have won anything other than one match in a long season. As for us beating “ half a team” laughable, just laughable. Most impressive for me was the “steel” in the team and the belief as a collective that Saints would not breach the defensive line, as evidenced by the short drop outs.
Attacking rugby including , at last, a proper wingers try.
Don’t want to get too giddy but Ashton has the makings of a little cracker, the break (before the penalty) was quality.
Still someone near me on the question of Ashton said “ he’s not my cup of tea”! No pleasing some!

I've not read any pundit or Saints fan and almost all of Wire fans saying Saints wouldn't win.
Never in doubt for me but Saints did grind at it for 20 min...after that you could see they were blowing.
Saints are an extremely good side...and it'll be us and them all season. Just at this time...Saints players simply aren't as fit as Wire. Injury excuses account for little...otherwise we'd have used them at Wembley.
Wire have raised the bar as far as fitness goes.
