I can always remember when Widnes won the WCC. The week later you played us at Wilderspool in the "Lancashire Cup Semi Final".

I think you're confusing some clubs not wanting to travel pre season with a disinterest in the competition. That's purely a question of prioritisation and is understandable given the monetary value of their domestic competition which is far in excess of our own.

As a fan, the best 2 victories I've ever had the pleasure of watching were the inaugural game against Manly and the aforementioned away win against Brisbane.
