Who are the top sides? There have been no stand outs in the league this year. Saints included.

We beat catalans when they were 2nd didn't we? Now we have just beaten 3rd. Sure we have been a bit flat the last 4 matches and especially the last 2 but we have still won the last 2 and lost the other 2 against 2 of the top sides with practically no pack.

We shouldn't get ahead of ourselves at all because we haven't been good enough for that, but a wins a win and we have won more than everyone else this season so far.

You're kidding right? We have lost two games, that's it. We don't need to prove ourselves against Wigan and St H in rounds 9 and 10. We need to beat them in September/October.

The only top 6 team we’ve lost against is Wigan. And by 6 points in the rain, understrength and playing poorly.

I’m not quite sure what we’re expecting of this season. Going the whole hog unbeaten whilst winning the treble and the world club challenge. That would have been a pretty good turnaround after last year. Personally I’ll settle for 4 points clear at the top half way through the season. Guess I’m a happy clapper

Back to the bench again until he earns the shirt back, it must have had the desired effect as he changed the game tonight to earn the staring bernth back (which he has for me). We can't allow complacency to creep in, players need to play for their starting shirt IMO. Thewlis was alright at FB, I do think he should be first choice wing for the time being. Russell has done ok, he's been really useful cover and is doing what he needs to do from a squad perspective, keeping the first choice back 3 honest by giving us a viable rotation option.

I didn't fancy us for this game so I am pleasantly suprised. You have to enjoy being 4 pts top of the league and Wigan being stuffed at home.

What happens next week if we lose to Catalans, would you sack him? If he wins next week and loses the next one, would you sack him? If we win the Cats game, then win the next, then lose the first half of the 3rd game, would you sack him at half time?

After sacking him at this point, do we give another coach half a season, ie if they don't win the GF then we get another coach? We've got good players so half a season is long enough. Shall we rinse and repeat with an incoming coach every half season until we win the GF?

It would certainly have been the most Warrington thing ever if, having lost the game but still being two points clear at the top, we had sacked Powell as suggested.
