| He just isn't very good and that's meant as no attempt to stick the boot into him... if anything it's putting the boot into whoever at our club decided to give him a lucrative 4 year deal - that's a decision that seemed a bit mad at the time and certainly looks mad right now.

I haven't been a fan of KFP and have criticised a fair bit in the past but if recruitment is the stick being used to beat him with then how about some credit for resigning thewlis, dean and wrench and for signing Harrison, mikaele, Wardle and Nicholson? Plus next year's recruitment? Or was that all Powell?
Maybe KFP is learning on the job and becoming more adept? I'm off his back for now anyway.

My main issue with KFP, and has been from the very start, is what exactly was his qualifications for the job in the first place?
This is a guy who had zero association with the club - If he had been a former club legend ( a Paul Cullen type), or a legend of RL in general, then I could see the thinking of having appointed him, but his playing days were a record of mediocrity/averageness and yet we were happy to employ him in a very high profile role, which apparently involves him being very influential in appointing coaches and, if rumour is to be believed, having a major role in recruitment of the playing squad.
And so this is where I have an issue with him 'learning on the job' - should we as an ambitious, relatively big spending club, have such a critical position at the club taken up by someone who can sometimes seem a little out of his depth?

100%. Who exactly thought “crikey, that ex bang average rugby player with no relevant experience will make a great CEO for our multi million pound organisation”? Tell me his great successes in 5 years. Please. The guy is a clown. Try listening to him for more than 2.5 minutes if you doubt that to be true….

I agree with you and have done from the appointment but we are where we are and I'm just giving a little credit on assumption the same way he is criticised on assumption. We don't know what he does (I'm glad the social gimmicks seem to have disappeared) so aren't really in a position to pass credible judgement (myself included).
If he was an unknown appointment as in someone we have never heard of with unknown credentials for the position would there be as much scrutiny? Granted though, former player for another superleague club to guy who looks after sponsors for wire to wire CEO is very, very far fetched.
We don't have much tangible evidence on his performance really other than recruitment (which seems to have taken a much needed upturn), club sponsors which he seems to have done OK with (despite the red hoover logo being a shirt ruiner). The sponsorship job will be a lot harder now though for sure and coach appointments, as far as coaches go price won a challenge Cup and reached a cup final and grand final in 4 years which isn't horrendous (despite the fact I'm very glad he has gone) the jury is well and truly out on Powell. The end of season review will be very difficult this season, Powell will need to get some good performances and wins to gain the trust to continue next season IMO.

| King looks to be possibly on his way back next season.
Jake Wardle to Wigan.
Kevin Naiqama to Huddersfield.

Just seen that on Sky about Naiqama, that would suggest that don’t want King, not going to lie I don’t want him back here and if we don’t keep Wardle I’d rather Wrench in the centre.

Jake Wardle is still contracted to Huddersfield for 2023 season, and I would be surprised if they released him to Wigan without them paying a transfer fee.

I agree. I’d rather have Wrench.
So the backs could be:
Dufty
Thewlis
Wrench
Mata’utia
Ashton
Ratchford/ Dean
Williams

There is no way that Powell will allow King to return to Warrington.
If Huddersfield don`t want him then he will given another loan deal elsewhere.

OK, then Wire will pay them a transfer fee for Wardle.
I doubt Wigan will.

Hopefully that’s the scenario. Luetele does want to go back to NRL.
Going back to our backline would anyone consider moving Currie to a centre position freeing up a 2nd row spot to fit one of our new forwards in.

Has Currie still got the speed and footwork to be the sort of centre that Powell wants? Under Price, I'd say yes, centre would suit Currie perfectly in that type of team.

I’d say yes.
Powell loved Michael Shenton. Physically Currie and Shenton I would say are same size.
At the end of the day a centre is primarily one of your main try scorers.
Currie scored a lot of try’s albeit up to his injuries. He can draw a man and pass to his winger. Whether he’s got the ability to pick the right option to pass or go himself remains to be seen.
For me Mata’tuia doesn’t score enough or look like scoring. He’s just physically a strong no nonsense type of player whose going to stick up for his teammates.

Nope- leutele has been offered another contract- this was confirmed by Watson on an interview on Giants tv in relation to this signing. Watson wants to keep them both. As for wardle you can keep him-his attitude is perfect for you at Warrington - thinks he should be playing and doesn’t want to wait to earn the shirt. The irony is if he’d waited a week he’d be playing in a top three side now not a bottom three one.
As regards King- he played busted last week against saints- put his hand up to Continue playing as we were already struggling with only 18 fit players- Jerry was taken off the field with an MCL injury and king took a knock. So yeah he missed a few tackles but it was that or play with a man down. Perhaps that kind of effort for your team mates is exactly what it seems you are missing at wire. Instead of bagging him perhaps you should be looking for that kind of commitment. It’s funny but all I see is more of the same- wire buying a load of names on big money - what you are lacking is team spirit!

Thing is, is that our players have shown over many years now that they don't have that team spirit, for the 3rd coach now, so we need to change them. We've hopefully, this time, identified incoming players with this.

| Getting rid of King on his reported big salary is not very easy. Can’t see why Hudds would want to keep him.
And who else would want him on them terms.
Maybe another loan deal with Warrington having to contribute a lot to his salary.
Warrington are still paying some of Cooper’s salary for the rest of this year despite him being a Wigan player.

Interesting that it was jake wardle a poor defending against that kick that led to the try that put KR in front.
You are quite right- you are stuck with paying kings salary whatever happens. No way will hudds pay you for king there’s no value to us in doing so. So you pay him off or take him back but either way you have to pay the salary.
