If we'd caught the passes for those 3 missed tries, we'd have scored 84!

| We are playing a flatter game that has a trade off with errors vs chance..
Playing the sort of rugby we did under TS and Richard Marshall, with the exception of defence looking to have a bit more urgency and resilience.
Under TS it was always about out scoring the opposition as the best form of defence is attack.
Under Price, it was more about defence and safe attack to win the territory game and play the percentage of waiting for the opponent to make an error, not great to watch except against Saints, for some reason.
I’d say under Chambers/Marshall/Gleeson, we look to have some of both but in lessening amounts.
We have the best pack in the league in terms of size and depth, and seemingly with the greater attack of risk for reward, the props aren’t working so hard in defence and are looking stunning again in attack because of it, popping up with tries again against tired defenders.
What this team needed, and has responded too, is the pressure of competition. KR, Salford and Leeds, have us staring down the barrel of failure, it’s ignited them, I know it shouldn’t be so, but while sitting at the top of the league, and following on, continually holding a top 4 position regardless of defeat, seemed to give the team little sense of urgency.
Always said it that competition is healthy, my thought process being about players, however I never considered a tight league structure scenario as being the same competition being healthy, we’ve responded to it.
The players know one more loss and they are now going to be responsible for falling out of the six, that threat will hopefully stop them from falling in love with themselves like they did in March.
Could we seeing be seeing the same thing from Catalan? Falling in love with themselves and loosing their Mojo?

| I think the wee switch Chambers has made, with Walker starting and Clark coming off the bench, is starting to work. Not because Walker is better, but because I think he is better at getting the little plays around the ruck going early and giving Vaughan and Mikaele good ball. While Clark's impact as fresh legs in the 2nd half was clear to see and completely beyond Cas's capability to handle.

Said it several times, Clark takes weeks to get over the smallest of knocks. We should spell him to keep him fresh and wrap him up in cotton wool ahead of big games.

| Quote ="ratticusfinch"According to Saints fans Dufty is a poor man’s Quinlan and one of the worst ever SL signings. Their insular nature is world class. Welsby, who is undeniably superb, beats Dufty comfortably in try assists but other than that is slightly behind in most stats. 3 MOMs on the trot for Dufty, class act.'"
It makes me wonder how Dufty looked like he wanted to play when he came over at the tail end of last season, then his form drooped of a cliff during this one, now he seems to be the quality player we hoped for in recent games.

| Dufty will always be a bit hit or miss cos of the way he plays. He tries to take the ball at top pace which means he misses a few. Confidence is key & not getting rattled when he gets it wrong. Very exciting player & was surprised when some wanted him to be dropped a few weeks back.

Hopefully Gleeson in his stay with us can use Dufty to maximise his speed, acceleration and footwork
He should be devastating from scrum attack moves and needs to stay hidden behind the scrum, so that the opposition defence don`t know in advance which side he is going to run at.

| Good win yesterday with a much needed boost for the points difference which will be critical come the 24th September.
It seems to me that we are actually playing as a team again under GC's guidance rather than a bunch of misfiring & rudderless individuals.

Perhaps we should have sacked Powell earlier? All those calling for his head early on got rinsed on here when, in fact, they were visionaries.

| Great win, good practice for the attack and defence the lads look as though they're united and in this together again. Maybe the season isn't over yet after all. Credit to all the current coaches and pkayers for the turnaround. Hopefully we get another few wins in the last 3, give saints a good game and go in to the playoffs full of confidence.

He won the first 8. We lost a load of forwards and the camp was divided after the Mcguire debacle. During those first 8 games the players all seemed happy and the Mcguire thing seemed to be the catalyst for discontent. Without the Mcguire shenanigans, things could/should have been very different as the team morale would have been fine, which appears to have been the main cause for our poor performances. With all this in mind, I think the club would gave been reluctant to sack him and not give him chance to make amends as the dip in form would have possibly been attributed to the camp split.
That said, Gleeson seems to have really boosted our attacking prowess as Chambers alluded too in his interview. They also seem to respect Chambers. I think post the Mcguire saga, Chambers has proved to be a better coach in reuniting the different factions and as a result, is getting more out the players. So in hindsight, an earlier change would have been better.

We didn't no. I would have said that it would have taken a bit of time for the shoots of his style to emerge, but Gleeson seems to have made an instant impact. Perhaps Powell's style takes a bit more learning and integration, who knows? But I do agree, in those first 8 wins, there wasn't so much of the Classy Cas flamboyance on view.

I started to think that Walker should go for a tinkle before the match started, rather than being subbed so that he can go to the loo.

| If we want Dufty running middle channels, we could shoe horn him in as a 9 on attack rather than Dwyer, Thewlis back to fullback.
Dufty dropping back out wide in defence.

Didn’t the Dwyer rumour turn out to be buzzcocks? Pretty sure it did?
And I thought Ratchford was pencilled in as Walker’s backip from the bench?

| IF we win against Salford, the true test of this squad for me is the St's match, not necessarily as a benchmark of our team vs theirs, more from a psychological perspective.
A Salford win solidifies play off place (i think) so it'll be interesting if we get the "job done, cue on the rack" Warrington or if we get the "time to get a run together for the play offs" Warrington.
