He is not spent despite what you say and I see you are quoting your friends in high places. It is just your opinion not fact but those he knows appear to like to feed him information because it makes him feel important and good for his ego.

| It is the signing of players like Butler, Brand and even the re signing of Ellis Robson that cause me to question our policy far more than the marquee style players. Someone at the club has seen enough in them to warrant their signing, they dont seem to be given any chance in the first team, then shipped out.
Is it the initial signing that is at fault? Are the coaches at fault for not developing their potential? In the meantime their opportunity to play is also hampered.

Said in another thread about Tanginoa, it was Jon Wells in one of the Sky games said we were talking to him.

| Quote ="Alffi_7"He seemed to start off really well in the back row but then got shifted to play in the middle. What drove that move to play in the middle rather than out wide? Did an injury force it? Do see him primarily as a middle unit player rather than a back row these days?'"
It was lack of props that prompted it.
He's good at SR there is no doubt. He will make holes out wide but he can sometimes let fast feet players back the other way and let's a loose pass go.
But if you need a runner. He's your man.
Saying that, there are no rumours about it at Wakefield so we'll see how it goes.

You're so jealous
What makes you think it's someone at the club, as ever you've no idea.
If you had the brains to read between the lines, which you don't, I said my informant was a good poker player. So although I'd gladly bet your life that they're not fibbing I wouldn't bet mine.
Of course, it's my opinion he's spent, I've been saying it for ages. Funny how suddenly you're his white knight.
Whether he's spent under a new coach at a new club I couldn't say, what I can say is that I personally won't miss him unless he gets his old form back. So pimp, tell our Warrington friends hand on heart whether Kelepi has played well over the last 12 months.

| Happy for visitor's, particularly those that contribute to the rugby debate and especially when there's a connection like Butler, where we all might learn a thing or two, even if it is opinion based..
However, keep your 'rhubarb shenanigans' on your own board..

Back to Bulter (sic)
MT: Rob Butler’s departure was confirmed this week – a move that’s good for both parties in that he gets to go out and play and you can clear some salary cap room?
DP: I felt Rob wasn’t quite where we needed him to be to be in our team. We’re looking to have outstanding standards across everything we do and Rob needed to play, so this was a good opportunity for him.

[iIt is rumoured Rob has signed a deal to play for relegation favourites Wakefield Trinity in the Superleague. His lack of playing at the top level may prove to be his downfall. Wakefield Trinity now are red hot favourites to end their 34 consecutive seasons in the Super League.[/i

| I haven't seen as much RL discussion and games as I would have liked this year but 3 things seem to stand out this season;
1. Recruitment has been poor. Not just cases like Butler, but the the state of our pack going into this season. Everyone on social media, this site and even the Warrington Guardian has been questioning it. Powell is clearly not to blame and was very forthright in stating which players he has recruited. Presumably that can only leave our CEO as the go to man in all this. The buck rests with him anyway because of the role he plays.
2. We don't know whether Powel's coaching is going to pay off yet, but I really like his clear statements as to what is going wrong when we lose and where players need to improve. That is a million miles away from the chaff we repeatedly got from our last coach. Gone are the days when we "trained well before the game".
3. Shaun Wane watched one of our early season games and I recall his comment that "Daryl Powell has a big job on his hands". That rang the alarm bells for me. You could interpret it as 'he is going to a big club' (at a stretch !), but I think he was alluding to the culture, which is notoriously difficult to change in any company or team.
If all that is correct, then it will take Powell some time to work through the playing group, bring in the necessary new recruits and get them all committed and playing the way he want's. I would guess that means this year is a write off and it will be mid season next year before we can assess if all of this is going to work out.

To allude to your reprise, if we are still playing like this halfway through next season, it’s hard to see Powell or the CEO here to see the further assessment.
Our season is slightly better than Anderson and Plange and slightly worse than the season that saw a disillusioned TS move on.
It’s hard to write off that the elevation of a water carrier to CEO had a conflict of interest during TS tenure, and the freedom of control TS had getting shoe boxed sized. That restraint of recruitment continued through Price, however there’s no evidence to suggest it has under DP.
I’d expand greatly on our CEO, but it warrants a topic of its own.
Packs win games, props earn pots

We were bottom 4 then and relegated to the middle 8s. I don't believe we are that bad this season.

I must admit I don't understand what has happened to our defence.
Price had many faults, but defensively we were decent. Last season we had the 2nd best "points against" in the league. This season we have the 4th worst.

Just before you get misty eyed
Warrington 12: 14 Castleford
Warrington 14: 27 Hull
Warrington 0 : 19 Hull KR
We were gutless when the pressure was on.

I would say that most of that 2019 London side was overrated they were pretty crap but people enjoyed them as being plucky under dogs.
Then that side got stripped by sl teams like a piranha feeding frenzy.
If be interested to see what the success rate for everyone that left has been like, I know James cunningham and the fb wakey signed have barely made an impression in sl.
