I heard the player you would like is Kyle Eastmond but getting him away from Saints won't be easy.

I can only see Eastmond leaving Saints for Union... Especially with Offiah as agent he'd get a huge sum for switching over :/

Briers is irreplaceable.

I thought Myler was the perfect partner for Briers to be honest… Briers does the flash long passes / kicks whilst Myler provides the support play and control in the middle… how well that’s gone only you lot can answer?

But players like Briers can only excel with a dominating pack and another half back controlling operations allowing them to do the flashy stuff… so his replacement need’s to be the same… so off players mentioned I’d say Rangi Chase fit’s that bill best!

Agreed. Exceptional player on his day. Although i think we will have to folk out an impressive bid for him to claim his services, as HKR won't be letting him go that easily. After that maybe Chase, but apart from that there isn't many consistent great half-backs around the SL.

Great competitor, bags of experience and can also cover a number of positions. Very good signing if we do manage to pull it off in 2012.

You must have a poor memory, started 4 games, plus 6 more off the bench. Got absolutely hammered by David Barnhill in a game against Leeds and then went back to Salford. He was bought to replace some kid called Briers.

Remember how Blakeley signed for us....he had left Salford and was supposed to be going to Huddersfield but then for whatever reason after they merged with Sheffield Eagles, their contract offer was no longer forthcoming so Blakeley was stuck without a club. He was on holiday in the Bahamas and Peter Deakin was in the same resort, the two of them met and we ended up offering him a deal. We were pretty light on backs so I think Blakeley was signed as a utility back and goalkicker. If I remember right we managed to get a fee from Salford when they signed him back halfway through the season so that was quite a good deal for us.

Don't waste pixels even mentioning Tomkins or Eastmond. Each plays for a well-financed club that has no reason to let them go - apart from a silly bid from the Union wallahs who can pay super wages on the back of RU international's earnings.

We probably need an import for 2012/13, but I hope one of the juniors can then come through after that. Richie Myler should be mature enough by then to carry the 'experienced' tag for one of the two half-backs.
