Just checked it was released in 1975 as an 'A' and I was actually only 6! It looks like the 'A' is now equivalent to the 'PG', amazing really as that film has traumatised a generation of people from floating about on the sea on a lilo!

i was thinking about that a few weeks back, i was letting my daughter (10) watch a few bits of it then i was surprised to see it was only a PG.

It is for the wrong ones...

Our 11 year old likes to watch the old horrors on the movie channels - what would have been AA or X in the 70s now get a PG rating, they'd probably even downgrade the Exorcist these days...
