| Amazing weekend, from start to finish. By finish, I mean like 10pm on Monday, just one of those weekends where you spend the weekend smiling, laughing etc.
Could go & on really, a couple of favourite moments.
- Having friends around on Monday, watch the game back, get a takeaway etc. We ordered some food, it was a bit pricey, so my mate had a change of heart and decided we'd order elsewhere but clearly felt that he had to give them a reason so simply said "Can I cancel that mate, my kids have fell down the stairs see."
- Penny chanting "Dougie, Dougie, Dougie..." on that bus, just made me laugh, oddly.
- Easily my favourite 'having seen it again' moment, is Vinnie Anderson and the "Ferkin Power Up Boys ...", amazing.
- Mathers leap and fist pump at FT, mega high.
- Briers at the final whistle, bit of Flintoff about him, comiserating Robinson, hauling him up off the floor, offering a few words etc, showed the class of him, despite what folk say about him. He could have been forgiven for endulging at that moment, he's a top man.
Just a brilliant weekend. Saturday was perfect, the journey, the weather, the performance, the banter, the company. Sunday was crazy, just crazy. Will live long in the memory.

| What a fantastic weekend, great memories - Only just coming down now!!
Friday night picking up the mini bus then all of us decking it out with our Tony Smiths Barmy Army banners and flags etc
Saturday Morn - Picking up our crew in various parts of Warrington and seeing everyone walking (fully decked out) to their various trains, coaches etc
The journey down stopping at the services on the M40 (not many Wire seemed to go that way!) and everyone asking who we were and where we were going
Pre match on Wembley way - Missus & mate DID have photo's with bananaman! having the banter with other fans and meeting old friends
Game - dropping my pint, getting half of one all over me that was destined for some troublesome Wakey fans and the result
Saturday night - Watching game again until falling asleep in drunken stuppor

We saw you lot, think you were going past the Bobby Moore statue...you were the funniest thing we saw all day, absolutely brilliant.

| Memories..
Arriving at Bank Quay station for the Wire Flyer to be met with a legion of Primrose and Blue. (Never seen the platform as busy)! Shouting up to the guys who were near the top of one of the massive Crossfields towers who were watching us congregate.
Good laugh going down on the train, everyone adorning the train coach with the free flags they handed out.
Spotting the Wembley Arch for the first time from the carriage window - cue mass uproar.
Meeting up with family at the Hotel Ibis bar - stopping a few pints of cider from going bad!
Being overwhelmed by the size and spectacle that greeted us when we entered the ground for the first time.
Seeing Wolfie score the try under the sticks.
Using my programme as a visor for most of the match as I was sat directly facing the sun!
The joy of seeing us lift the cup.
The never-ending journey which was our train ride home.
Getting p#ss wet thorough standing on the town hall grass watching the lads parade the cup!
A couple of days that will live long in the memory!

For me the crack with the Wire fan stood with his gorgeous girlfriend and his mate at the Greyhound pub. Explained how he cried at the SF, I had goosebumops just listening to him, I also predicted to him that Wire would have to score 1st 2 tries to win.
To cap it all off the guy dressed as a knight with rubber w**lly when he slapped it on the bonnet of that girls car outside the pub, absoluteley priceless.
And just remembered about the guys with the inflatable horse costumes.
...oh and standing outside the pub for 2 hours drinking drink we bought from the offy over the road.

| Arriving in some dog end of the earth someplace in london on friday night around midnight, trying to find some food and it was really quite intimidating and scaryish about.. and then... we see a wire shirt!!
Just walking the 2 mile walk from the hotel to the stadium, everyone beeping and cheering to each other, and then the masses outside the greyhound pub, buying bottles of WKD from the offlicense nearby and the guy behind the counter opening them for us.
Seeing everyone in fancy dress.
Walking into the stadium, and all you can see is half of wembley stadium in blue and primrose.
Wolfie scoring the try.
The 10 second countdown at the end of the game. Players stop ready for the hooter to jump on each other celebrating.
THe whole of the sunday, coming back beeping everyone on the motorway, getting back to warrington and playing chelsea dagger full blast with the windows down and beeping everyone, and loads of people cheering us or dancing to it.
Getting my champions tattoo today

| Day of the Semi Final
Standing on Newton High Street late morning, with my jersey on, in a Flintoff pose, as 2 coachloads of Wigan fans pass by. Some of the 'ladies' on the coach didn't seem too happy and showed their disapproval.
Texting my missus at half time telling her that in 2 hours time I'd be stood in the same spot waving the coaches back.

| And the Final
Not being able to sleep on Friday night. It was just like being a kid again at Christmas.
Waiting to get on coach 10 and hearing the driver tell a woman in her seventies that she couldn't bring on 2 cans of Mackies, despite being told they were for medicinal purposes.
Being really chuffed seeing how many cars there were on the motorway with Warrington colours. Seemed like every other car was P&B.
Driving past the Greyhound and seeing the number of Wire fans. 1 bloke dressed as a 1970s rugby player dancing along side the passing cars
Coach spotters in the Wembley car park.
Singing in the concourse just before kick-off.
A bloke asking me where he was. P&B paint running down his face.
'You're in Wembley?'
'oh'
'who you with?'
'don't know'
'where you sitting?
'don't know. Wemberley, Wemberley.................'
walking through the entrance to get to our seats, what a sight.
the noise
thinking it was all over when King scored.
knowing it was all over watching Hicks just before full time

We weren't troublesome at all just having a good day out like we do every year. I think you'll find it was some of your idiots that got thrown out who would prefer to turn round and make death threats where there was young children aswell instead of watch your team in the final. Also you mention of throwing of a pint which none of us did either.
So who's the troublesome fans?

| We arrived at our Heathrow hotel on Friday lunchtime and drove into London for a tour of the place. Driving round Trafalgar Square and seeing the plinth occupied by a young lady in primrose and blue dancing and waving a Wires flag !!
We had the flags on the car and attracted a few puzzled looks.
Had photo opportunities with Stevo and David Gest !!!
Quality weekend

| It was fantastic getting into the Wembley Park station at 12 ish and hearing all the chanting from the confines of the station to the stadium concourses and the place being flooded with P&B (where were all the Hudds fans).
Seeing a great try saving (and match turning) tackle from a Wakefield underhill college??? kid in the pre match game by bundling a player into touch.
The fella in front of me suffering from the same nerves i was feeling and high fiving people after every score (including a family most of which seemed to have been forced to come along).

| Setting off at 7, going dallam lane from mine and seeing thousands of wire fans, and the lord rodney was absoloutley heaving
Warwick services Amazing, primrose and blue everywhere! They even had a stall outside the services selling wire merchandice
Arriving in High Wycombe and going to the coffee shop with my dad talkng to this couple from Warrington, just beginning to get a taste of the atmosphere now, and that chicken sandwhich was lovelly
Seeing the first friendly face at the station in Wycombe , Wire in the Final
Waiting for the train, getting really excited now
Having to stand up on the train and every one around me listening to my conversation with my dad, me asking him who he was on about about, he kept mentioning some old singers or something (kids today, was his reply ) and boy did my back hurt standing up on that train
Getting off the train and immediatly looking up and seeing one side of Wembley, i tapped my dad on the shoulder and said 'look dad, there it is!' I was amazed by the sheer size of it, huge
Walking around Wembley, took about half an hour with all the stops chatting to Wire fans. Looking over toward Wembley Way and seeing thousands of fans (mainly p & b) walking in my direction. The camera had to come out at this point
Seeing those people selling them 'hear the ref' radios, what the hell lol why would i wanna hear the bloody ref! Imagine it, 'ONE' , 'HELD' , that would really annoy me
Meeting my friends in the Greyhound pub, there were millions of wires in there it was amazing. Didnt wanna pay them prices for beer but luckily i came prepared, bottles of calsberg in a bag
Meeting Anthony Sullivan, Chris Joynt and many of the Prescott charity fundraisers was good, getting pictures taken with them, although i dont think Chris Joynt was too happy ot get mobbed by all us lot
Entering Wembley and going up the never ending escalators was amazing, people singing and the whole setting was great.
Walking out onto Wembley , what a site! Turning around to see my friends who were trying to get my attention, waving hands like mad shouting 'Gaz. Gaz, up here!' lol that put a smile on my face.
The game itself! Ive never seen a stadium like it, the atmosphere, the crowd, the people, the colours. It was amazing, a day to remember. This was the greatest day of my life, unbelievable.
Wolfie scoring a try!
The game, what a game! Mathers going over in 70 seconds was just the start we needed. And the Briers drop goal was the icing!
Watching Morley and Briers lifting the cup together, priceless!
I was never certain we'd actually won the game until the clock read 79:12 then i just jumped on my dad with a massive sigh of relief , we'd won the cup! Never had a feeling like it before, the kinda feeling you never forget.
And from there on it was just emotional and exciting, taking it all in was too much, you cant describe the feeling you have to have been there. Its what you wait you whole life for, and boy is it worth it!

| left at 7 saturday morning, stopping at corley services with the place packed with wire fans, the realisation of what was ahead dawning.
passing a car on the m1 with two kids aged about ten in the back,we passed them about five times and each time they were fist pumping and laughing.
getting into the sports bar at wembley for about 10.45 and having a few pints sat with some hull kr fans who were a scream.
meeting scully with the greeting
"your still a wire scully" having a chat and a photo with him,top bloke.
standing outside the ibis when simon moran came out of the station and everyone was cheering.
getting in wembley and soaking it all in,the game, say no more.
on the tube with some leeds fans who wished us all the best and seemed genuinely pleased for us,again a great set of lads.
a top night out in soho, talking to two coppers outside a pub who were checking out my club polo shirt and also were made up that we won.
falling into bed at 2.30 am when i had drunk myself sober.
one of the best days ever.
