), however he would also come on the forum and have a good old chat. I liked him. RIP Wire Yed (Steve).

never knew Steve...but as with many names you read on these boards....you share a common bond. Very sad news....will miss his posts. R.I.P Yed.

I am shocked and saddened. He's right about guys and mental health. At least the RL have done some good work to raise the issue.

Im sure Wigan fan's would accept the V's all day long not to have lost one of the family especially in such sad circumstances .

As a new member to this forum I do not know this gentleman but feel so sad that his life has ended like this. RIP.

Omar Little and anyone else who understands this stuff (there's many a good fellow on here by the looks of things), can you
make any suggestions as to where to go. After reading the posts, I'll be a bit more open:-

I was roughly 26 when I realised that I wasn't feeling the same about things. I'm nearly 40 now and have attempted loosly to address it. I've been the doc 3 times over that period and prescribed sertraline, worked a bit but not that much. The 3rd time I was using 100mg a day but it made me feel very distant. I have wonderful things in life such as my family and friends, my students (I'm a music teacher) who I take great pride, and Wire who I used to follow home and away (and still follow). I love all these things but the dreaded D word takes away all the satisfaction. You get to a stage where your love and passion for everything becomes a duty in your mind, and you fulfil the role you have as a person by not wanting to let any of those loves and beliefs down. I've had quite a few beers tonight, and there's no way I could say this now if it wasn't for being drunk and for the posts Wire Yed and fellow members have made on this.

I can't/unable quote the Matt Haig comments again as I can't work the IT stuff, but Wire Yed and others where exactly right to say that those comments are very accurate.

RIP Wire Yed, the boys did you proud today. We just fell short but we've shown enough to win the GF with a bit of lady luck.

Just came across this awful news.

He shared his experience regarding depression on a thread several months ago on SouthStander that meant a huge deal to me and others.

I'm sure the others on SouthStander won't mind me offering our collective condolences to his loved ones.

Depression is a really tough thing for people to come to terms with, I was having a hard time with it then lost my wife to cancer, just after that Yed contacted me on here regarding a post I made and that was the start of us chatting be it on here or by phone, he told me his problems and I told him mine together we were helping each other or at least I thought so, just a week before this awful tragedy he spoke to me asked how things were going, told him ow I was etc and I asked him how he was I got no reply, wish I had pushed him about it, anyway the hardest thing about depression is admitting you have it and then talking to someone,I urge anyone who is in a dark place to talk to someone, as someone who is still dealing with it well I'm here if anyone needs to talk just pm me.

Always popped over to our forum for a bit of chit chat when we played you, horrible news to come across. RIP, love to his friends and family.

I along with Cat attended Steve's funeral today.

Such a very sad occasion given how young Steve was and the manner of his passing. The funeral was very well attended and there was many people wearing the Primrose and Blue. It was also good to see our brothers and sisters from Saints, Wigan and Leigh all wearing their teams jerseys. Steve's Coffin was carried by people wearing both Wire & Wigan shirts.

For those who didn't know Steve he truly was one of Lifes good Guys. He always had a friendly word to say to people at the match and always had a smile on his face. Steve loved the Wire absolutely loved them.

Only knew him through the forums but reading his Facebook posts and then only a few days later learning he'd gone was truly heartbreaking.

I've not been on rlfans for several years but felt the need to reply to this post.

I heard about Steve's passing from Cat a couple of weeks ago. Actually it was on cup final day, a couple of hours after we'd been beaten. It certainly put things into perspective.

I met Steve several times, usually at Magic, or at the Stoop. He was a genuinely nice guy. Shit hair, but a nice guy all the same

I can't comment, like some, about Steve's "condition" (I don't even though if that's the right bloody word) as I have no real experience. So I won't.

I hope Steve is now in peace. God (or whoever...) bless you my friend.
