Agreed silver 2. It's the second game in, recovering from the Broncos game which is so important for us and sl's reputation. Give the players some grace. I'm more really encouraged at this stage of the season, more than many a year- Brown, Cooper and Savelio look top aquasitions and when we have Hill, Gidley, Currie and Ratchford back, it's going to take a top side on their top game to beat us. I think K Cunningham is sitting more uncomfortable than TS.
I find a win in the next two games difficult to forsee.

Looking at the team tonight I thought they were half a yard too slow and clearly paying for the effort they put in against Brisbane. Simms hardly seemed to make any ground and even Cooper was struggling. Considering Crosby had a week off he was very disappointing and seemed to go missing. The tackling was the worst aspect, I can't believe how poor it was. Did Evans actually make one decent attempt to tackle all night ?

It's early days yet and the Brisbane game was certainly a factor, but they will certainly need to win the Salford game to get sorted for a difficult home game against Wigan. I would like to see Livett replace Evans but am pretty sure TS will not give him the game time yet.

Yep everything is peachy. No issues with our right edge or mental resilience. Best pack in the league. Nothing to see here.

What surprised me is that Powell has done it to you before and yet TS fell for it again. Started with our best 3 forwards on the bench, soaked up the pressure for 20 minutes and then introduced them. 4 tries in 10 minutes was the result.

I think we have to just accept that the Wire were outplayed by a team that came here to win...not come second. Cas were much sharper in attack & defence & made more yardage with the ball in their sets. They did to us what we did to Brisbane last week, played on the front foot & blew their opponents away. Very entertaining game.

Third favorites To win the title turn it on and make the second favorites for the title look silly for 20 mins...... shocker !!!!

Yeah credit to Cas all the way , they look the real deal this season. Apart from a ten minute spell we didn't look too bad.

Fortunately I'm one of them people that can say the best team won on the night and I'll look forward to next week.

Posted this in the Smith thread. With the most resources at his disposal he's assembled the slowest and least creative backline in 20 years

I'm not too concerned. Losing Gidley to illness on the day of the game can't have helped, we do look much better defensively with him in the team.
That four try spell killed us, it reminded me of Knowsley Road one year when Saints bombarded Penny's wing and we were far too slow to react.
Our attack at times looked like 2015 post Briers/Monaghan, little direction on the last, Savelio resorting to a great individual try because there was nothing else on. Think Brown needs time to find his feet, he played really well against Brisbane but aside from his generally good territorial kicking was poor when we were in an attacking position.
Didn't see it at the time, was at the other end of the ground, but would we have been 12-0 up had we not decided to shorten the in goal areas? Looked close to me.

Twice we were within 4 points, with a real chance of scraping a draw or a win and twice we threw it away. I thought that although our pack looked more lethargic, we still matched them roughly up the middle. Our back line needs to wake up and sharpish. Aktins couldn't pass water and Evens seemed more intent on feeling the quality of the opposition jersey rather then put his shoulder in. Russell should be nowhere near this team. absolute liability. I though Johnson dealt with testing kicks well but on the whole looked out of position and out of his depth for the majority of the game. Fair play though, he came in last minute and wasn't the worst player on the pitch.

Harvey Livett achieved more in the first two minutes he was on the pitch than Evans and Atkins achieved in the entire game. He's one for the future that lad.

Everything about that game was stale, no imagination in attack, slow in the 3/4 quarters and poor in effort as a team. There were some notable performances, but they don't win you games.

TS has to deal with this quickly and get them interested again. We will get no where with Evan and Atkins possibly the worst centre partners I have seen.

Having watched Leeds' efforts at a fair number of WCC games over the years, I'm not surprised you fell to cas the week after. While world series games are great occasions, they are a big disruption. I'd liken their effect to the second of the Easter weekend games. Flat crowd, flat performance. I thought you did well to hang in and almost claw it back tbh.
