Hill is certainly better in my opinion, I enjoyed watching Morley though for the big hits.

I actually think our pack outside of Hill isn't great, if we lost him we would really struggle for go forward.

I'm not a Sims fan but he tackled relentlessly last night. All of Saints points were scored when Hill went off. We need another quality prop to accompany Hill, Sims and Cooper. The size of the Saints pack vs ours was incredible.

Hill has made the difference this year. Considering our lack of seasoned props through injury this year we have done really well to finish top & get to 2 finals. Hilly has been head & shoulders above the rest & made valuable yards that mattered.

Sims has a great attitude and work rate, rarely gets injured and plays long minutes, so he is certainly a good player to have.

But he would struggle to break through a paper bag at times, so like you say, another quality prop is needed.

Sims does a particular job and does it very well, quick ptb, good offloads (mostly)and very good defence...he was very, very good last night and i think he's had a very good season. Gets a bit of stick for not being chris hill but there's no shame in that.

I watched the game again on Sky when I got home. They mentioned that Walmsley has 76 tackle busts the season, 2nd highest for a prop after Junior Moors (85). In comparison Sims has 18. Matt Russel has a colossal 126. I can see now why he get's the nod by TS.

Sims was top offloader in the league this year, its swings and roundabouts.

yes Russell gets stick at times on here because he is not seen as an out and out winger, but the go forward he gives us is invaluable... gets good metres coupled with quick play the ball, and that makes huge difference to the whole set.

I said a few months back that Hill is a better player for us than Morley was. That belief becomes stronger week by week.

I thought Sims had his best game for us last night. He did not mess about in attack or defence, just worked so hard in both. Great game.

Jackson,Nutley and Moz are the stand out props in my time of watching Wire. But I think Hill stands above them, the work rate games and minutes on the field he gets through and still manages to stand out every week is mind blowing..
What's more every game he plays it looks like his first of the season such is his physical fitness.
He'll also play every game and be outstanding for England in the 4 nations too..

Boyd, Moz and Hill....all brilliant players with different attributes. Hill is the most complete player IMO...the model pro and he is a machine. Has to be considered as one of the best players ever to pull on the Primrose and Blue, and one of the best players in the Super League era.

Danny Nutley is probably in my all time top 3 [ifavourite[/i Wire players, but I wonder how he compares to Hill in terms of actual quality.

I have to add my name to those praising Sims performance last night - he was immense. In the second half in particular, every time a Wires player dropped off the tackle slightly and a half-break or offload looked possible, Sims cleaned up. He also took the ball up relentlessly, and very effectively.

Hill, is basically utterly immense, the complete prop. I've been an admirer of all the forwards mentioned in here at one time or another, but Hill has consistently been several levels above most props in the British game. He probably represents one of the best signings we've made in my Wire supporters career as well.

Wish he'd lose that beard tho.

I think Hill is the best prop we have had in my viewing years, but the signing of Morley and influence he had was probably more important to the club.

Beard's gone hasn't it? When we were about to sign him i asked a leigh fan at work about hill and he replied ' future england captain' hopefully he's proved right.

Morley was a big hitter and at times he ing creamed some people and they didn't want to know for years after neither, throwing the ball away to anywhere else so they wouldn't get tackled by him! and he was a very good leader

I think Hill is a better player though. His footwork is exceptional. He has a passing game too which goes unnoticed. and his tackling is extremely reliable. And he plays every bloody game which is unbelievable almost!

I'm still amazed he didn't miss any time after that awful ankle injury away at salford last year, it was amazing he came back and on and even more amazing he played the week after.

Plus the sheer amount of time he plays.
