Really don't get the Eddie & Stevo bashing. I think there great entertainment.
I can not think of another person I would rather have at the moment?

They remind me far more of WWE commentators rather than the serious sports commentry that the sport deserves. When you compare their inane drivel with the commentry from the NRL, it's like comparing Skys fanzone football commentry with the real thing from Andy Gray etc.

I agree they are entertaining. I do feel Eddie makes more sense than Stevo though, who can be irratating at times..He comes out with the same clinches...eg "Thats a schoolboy error"

I have to say things like that can be a bit annoying

Loved the KR Commentery with the Wasp and McDermot saying to Stevo if it lands on your chin ill hit it as hard as possible and do all the rugby world a favour.

Tell you what, you go have Ray French back, we'll stick with Eddie and Stevo.

I do like Barry Mac, I think he has the right balance in commentating on games, he is articulate and funny. Still Eddie and Stevo are now an institution.

The only one who really annoys me is Clarke - Classic lines include:

Rugby is all about an oval ball;
A winger must be able to run;
Its the job of the defence to stop a try

Totally agree, i really hope that sky including Eddie and Stevo get the challenge cup next year, i thought this years coverage was disgraceful
only 20 minutes build up followed by 80 minutes of the crowd noise being drowned out and listening to Ganson.
Then no lap of honour, maybe it was shown on the red button not having seen it as i was out at the time.

Ok Eddie and Stevo's attempts at humour might not be everybodies cup of tea but i do enjoy the comentary. i actually think that Baz and Terry are really cringe worthy at times.

Just because Ray French isnt no.1 on the BBC any more doesnt make their coverage any less dull-with the exception of Jiffy it is awful. At least Eddie & Stevo inject a bit of humour although I wish Stevo would get over his obsession with 'outfits'.....

Is it time for Clarke to step down. He has upset too many people.

Eddy Hemmings is almost as bad for our game as Eddy Waring was.

His technical knowledge is zero, he's never played the game in his life
and his endless, irrelevant historical crap is nauseating, especially
when a superb game is being played out in front of us.

Its an insult to the players efforts and to our intelligence.

Stevo certainly has some technical knowledge and makes some
realistic comments but does also make some ludcrous statements.

The sooner Brian Carney takes over, with someone like John Wells or
Dave Woods the better..

And PLEASE, PLEASE no more of the childish "binocular challege" lunacy.

It again is reminiscent of Eddy Waring and "Its a knockout".

How can we expect outsiders to take our game seriously when we

Was anyone as bad as Eddy Waring? I saw the programme last week about him & I still think he was an idiot.

Keep eddie and stevo. Think sky should transfer them for the football coverage too cause andy gray and the other really aint half as good entertainment.

I think the people that do " the footy show" should come on tour to England for a few weeks. Don't really get to see it that much anymore apart from a few online videos.

to be fair and its only my opinion but i think everything about your post is wrong.

just because Eddie has never played the game doesnt mean he cant call it. Channel 9's Ray Warren never played the game neither did Andrew Voss.

its quite clear that the non playing Eddie has repeatedly had to explain rules to Stevo to my knowledge the reverse has never happened.

hemmings has personnally never insulted my intelligence, he hypes thing up a bit as is a Commentators job but He's never shouted for a player to "go on score a try" like Stevo has done.

Dave woods is a ridiculous Yorkshire biased tosspot in a similar vain to Stevo although his support and dislike for a team i.e last two challenge cup finals is much more subtle.

the binocular challenge what a bizzare statement is not done during a game so whats the problem.its done in a separate light hearted programme, i'm sure Soccer am and its tomfoolery is very popular.
The footy show in Aus is/was very popular with its comedy japes, some of the funniest telly ive seen with Reg Reagan in his pomp.

any programme regardless of style is welcome on TV if it can help spread the word even the superleague show with Harry Gration...!!!

i'd rather people tune in to Barrie mac and big tez d1cking around but being funny than tuninng into to Stevo being serious but actually turning out funny.
