Although no world beater he was streets ahead of the likes of Matt Davis.

Briers and Westwood certainly, morley I would say is a wire legend and Nat wood (for his antics) in the superleague era. Monoghans are a good shout but probably fall just short. Jiffy and Mike gregory before superleague.

You can do as you like. I will still pass my opinion on the relative merits of a player based on watching other players in the same position for 40 years.

Bob Eccles was a great 2nd rower. His try scoring record for a second rower will not be beaten.

He had a thing where ken Kelly would run over the ball at acting Hb and Bob would pick the ball up and plunge over the try line..pretty sure this got stopped by the rfl

Yes it was very effective. I think they changed the rules the season after.

John Parry Gordon is a true legend. He even queued up like any other spectator to watch the game after he had retired.

Greg Mackey my fav, toughest player pound for pound to ever wear the shirt. A midget and got BATTERED every single game with cheap shots etc, I used to cringe, but he always got up. Super skilful too. RIP.
